American Power forward Brandon Ubel (209-F/C-91, agency: Pensack Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for Brussels, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 32. The 25-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, nine rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Kangoeroes (#4, 17-15) with 40-point margin 114-74. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Brussels maintains the 3rd position in Belgian Euromillions League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Brussels will need more victories to improve their 19-13 record. In the team's last game Ubel had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Brussels and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Former University of Nebraska star has very solid stats this year. Ubel is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 6.6rpg) and averages impressive 57.5% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old American Seth Tuttle (203-F-92) of Limburg United. Tuttle had a very good evening with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course he led Limburg United to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked Aalstar (#5, 17-16) 100-73. Limburg United's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 16-16 record is not bad and everything may still change. Tuttle is a newcomer at Limburg United, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.3ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 5.9rpg and 3.6apg.
Third on the list of top players last round was American Gavin Ware (206-C/F-93) of league's second-best Antwerp. Ware scored 19 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Ware's great performance Antwerp lost 78-83 to the lower-ranked Spirou (#7, 15-17). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Antwerp needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 20 victories and 12 lost games. Ware has a great season in Belgium. After 32 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.6ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 6.5rpg (6th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Aleksander Lichodzijewski (204-PF-84) of Brussels - 25 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists 5. J.J. Mann (198-G/F-91) of Mons-Hainaut - 19 points and 12 rebounds 6. Corey Walden (188-G-92) of Oostende - 14 points and 6 assists 7. Pape Badji (208-F/C-92) of Kangoeroes - 22 points and 9 rebounds 8. Jordan Swing (198-F-90) of Limburg United - 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists 9. D.J. Richardson (190-G-91) of Spirou - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists 10. Jerime Anderson (187-PG-89) of Limburg United - 11 points, 2 rebounds and 13 assists
The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
