Devin Green
30-year old swingman Devin Green (201-G/F-82) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Spirou and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 18.
He had a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Antwerp (#5, 9-9) 77-64. Spirou is placed at 3rd position in Belgian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Spirou will need more victories to improve their 11-6 record. In the team's last game Green had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Spirou, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Hampton University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Green is in league's top in points (7th best: 16.5ppg) and averages solid 2.5spg and 51.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Nemanja Aleksandrov (210-C/F-87) of Verviers-Pep.. He is Serbian in his first season at Verviers-Pep.. In the last game Aleksandrov recorded impressive 30 points and 6 rebounds. Of course he lead Verviers-Pep. to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked Liege (#6, 6-12) 89-65. Despite this victory they still are dead at the bottom. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Verviers-Pep. managed to get this year. Aleksandrov is a newcomer at Verviers-Pep. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.8ppg (#4). He also registered 5.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward John Tofi (203-F/C-84) of Aalstar (#4). Tofi showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the last round. Despite Tofi's great performance Aalstar lost 78-86 to #2 ranked M.Hainaut. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Aalstar needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 11 victories and 7 lost games. Tofi has a great season in Belgium. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 6.8rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Justin Cage (198-F-85) of M.Hainaut - 16 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Chris Ferguson (206-C-89) of Verviers-Pep. - 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Christopher Young (206-F/C-79) of Aalstar - 15 points and 8 rebounds
7. Brent Wright (203-F/C-78) of Oostende - 15 points and 10 rebounds
8. Andre Williamson (200-F-89) of Liege - 11 points and 10 rebounds
9. Josh Bostic (196-F-87) of M.Hainaut - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Derrick Allen (203-F-80) of Spirou - 13 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
