With this victory Granca made a huge step forward to Preliminary Round. It was a very exciting game decided in the finish. But let start from the beginning and 17-14 lead for Dexia after 10 minutes of play. Until the half time the hosts jumped to 40-33 and it seemed they are on the right track to victory. However, visitors did not have the same thoughts and they totally smashed Dexia in third period. Morgan Warburton and her teammates intensified defense after the breather and at the same time stayed high-productive on the other side of the court. That resulted with 12-27 for Granca in third quarter and later they jumped to 52-62. In the finish Dexia came to 71-74, but Aneika Henry made one FT for Granca after that. The hosts made a jumper with less than 3 seconds to go and there was not enough time for anything more.

Waregem and Sint Kateline stay on top after 8 rounds in Belgian D1. Both squads celebrated this week-end and both are on almost perfect 7-1 score.
Waregem trashed Jeugd Gentson at home 72-46. Jana Raman (183-F-91) was a key player in victory scoring 17 points. Lisa Foucart had 14 and Nele Deyaert (186-F-79) helped with 10 points. Nice beginning of the EuroCup 2009/10 regular season for the Croatian team. Medvescak celebrated 82-78 win again Dexia mostly owing to Mirna Mazic (188-F-85, college: Richmond), who collected 22 points and 15 rebounds. Medvescak - Dexia 82-78
Nice beginning of the EuroCup 2009/10 regular season for the Croatian team. Medvescak celebrated 82-78 win again Dexia mostly owing to Mirna Mazic (188-F-85, college: Richmond), who collected 22 points and 15 rebounds. Irena Cuncic (175-G-86) scored 20 pts and handed out 9 assists, while Iva Meznaric (180-F-86) helped with 18 pts and 8 rebs. Jennifer Fleischer (195-C-84, agency: LBM Management, college: Pennsylvania) responded with double-double in defeat, 21 pts and 10 rebs. Both teams are placed in Preliminary Group B. Beside that, participants of the same pool are Gran Canaria and Olivais. The Spanish team celebrated yesterday 75-58. Except of third quarter, Medvescak was better team during the entire time. After opening ten minutes the hosts had 22-19 and until the half time they jumped to 6-point lead. It was 42-36. However, Jennifer Fleischer and her teammates entered to second half much better and they quickly tied the score. Until the end of third period, visitors managed to take the lead and it seemed they are on the right track to victory. After 30 minutes of play it was 59-61. However, the hosts did not give up. Mirna Mazic and Irena Cuncic stepped up for them and with great offensive plays lifted Medvescak to 23 pts in the last quarter. Dexia was stopped on 17 and the hosts grabbed valuable win in EuroCup opening round.
