Nick Celis
Swingman Nick Celis (196-F/G-88) had a great game in the last round for Oxaco, receiving a Eurobasket.com Top Division I Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Gembo BBC (13-5) 80-67. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Oxaco is placed at 3rd position in Belgian Top Division I. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Oxaco will need more victories to improve their 13-5 record. It's Celis' second year at Oxaco and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Nick Celis has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 18.5ppg), rebounds (6th best: 7.2rpg) and assists (2nd best: 4.4apg).

The second best player in last round's games was -year old Leon Nziye (G) of RPC Anderlecht. Nziye had a very good evening with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course RPC Anderlecht cruised to a 78-71 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Melsele (#8, 8-10). This victory allowed RPC Anderlecht to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 12th position in the standings. 13 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories RPC Anderlecht managed to get this year. Nziye is well-known at RPC Anderlecht and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Stephane Moris (208-F/C-86, agency: Promotex) of Royal Brussels (#9). Moris scored 20 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Royal Brussels, leading his team to a 74-68 win against slightly lower-ranked Ieper (#10, 7-11). The chances of Royal Brussels ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Moris could help Royal Brussels to bring them higher in the standings. Moris has a great season in Belgium. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.7ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 7.9rpg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Yiri Deville (G-94) of Soba - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Bart Maesen (198-F-89) of Houthalen - 26 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Thomas Creppy (197-F-90) of Royal Brussels - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Francois Lhoest (196-F/C-85) of Ninane - 9 points and 22 rebounds
8. Laurent Lhote (182-PG-84) of Gent Hawks - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Brecht Guillemyn (192-F/G-87) of Waregem - 25 points and 3 rebounds
10. Joeri Vermoesen) of Gent Hawks - 22 points and 4 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Rosa Radom adds Punter to their roster, ex Antwerp - 2 days ago
Rosa Radom (PLK) added to their roster 24-year old American guard Kevin Punter (188-82kg-93, college: Tennessee). He played last season at Port of Antwerp Giants in Belgian Euromillions League. Stan Leemans
Ieper lands Stan Leemans - 3 days ago
Melco Ieper (Top Division I) tabbed 25-year old Swiss center Stan Leemans (205-92, agency: Promotex). He has played for the last two years at Fribourg Olympic in Swiss LNA league. But in 23 games he averaged just 1.3ppg and 1.3rpg last season. Leemans helped them to win the Supercup and make to league final. Among other achievements he received Eurobasket.com Swiss LNB All-Domestic Players Team award back in 2014. Leemans has played also professionally for other Swiss teams like Villars a...   [read more]
