The biggest disappointment of round 17 in the Euromillions League was a home defeat of 4th placed Kangoeroes (8-9) by fifth ranked Spirou Charleroi (9-8) who outscored them by 18 points 88-70. Spirou Charleroi made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. The former international guard Alexandre Libert (194-90, agency: Promotex) stepped up and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American guard D.J. Richardson (190-91, college: Illinois, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 16 points. Spirou Charleroi's coach Fulvio Bastianini used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Senegalese power forward Pape Badji (208-92) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Spirou Charleroi moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Brussels. Kangoeroes at the other side dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Mons-Hainaut. Spirou Charleroi is looking forward to face Belfius Mons-Hainaut (#6) in Jemappes in the next round. Kangoeroes will play on the road against the league's leader Oostende and are hoping to win this game.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Antwerp. Second-ranked host Antwerp Giants (11-6) lost to first ranked Oostende (13-4) 75-68. Serbian center Rasko Katic (208-80, agency: BeoBasket) nailed 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Jean-Marc Mwema accounted for 10 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Ryan Anderson (206-92, college: Arizona) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds for Antwerp Giants in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-4 record. Antwerp Giants lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with six games lost. Oostende will play against Kangoeroes (#7) in Willebroek in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Antwerp Giants will play on the road against Okapi Aalstar (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 17: Liege lost to Brussels on the opponent's court 79-83. Bottom-ranked Leuven unfortunately lost to Aalstar in a home game 83-99. Limburg United managed to beat Mons-Hainaut on the road 91-82.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by John Tofi of Aalstar.

Brussels - Liege 83-79

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Liege Basket (6-12) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Basic-Fit Brussels (9-8) 83-79. Basic-Fit Brussels players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Jeremy Simmons (204-89, college: Charleston) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and power forward Brandon Ubel (209-91, college: Nebraska, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Devin Sweetney (198-87, college: St.Francis, PA) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Liege Basket in the defeat. Five Basic-Fit Brussels and four Liege Basket players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Basic-Fit Brussels moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Spirou. Liege Basket at the other side keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Basic-Fit Brussels will play against Limburg United (#8) on the road in the next round. Liege Basket will play against Leuven Bears and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Leuven - Aalstar 83-99

Very predictable result when third ranked Okapi Aalstar (10-8) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Leuven Bears (5-12) 99-83. Okapi Aalstar shot 64.3 percent from the field and made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Troisfontaines is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Codi Miller-McIntyre (190-94, college: Wake Forest) came up with 13 points and 8 assists and Australian swingman Clint Steindl (200-89, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 15 points respectively for Leuven Bears in the defeat. Mons-Hainaut - Limburg United 82-91

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Jemappes where 7th ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (8-9) was defeated by eighth ranked Limburg United (7-10) 91-82. American forward Seth Tuttle (203-92, college: N.Iowa) nailed 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and the former international forward Wen Boss Mukubu (198-83, college: UAB) accounted for 12 points and 5 rebounds. Limburg United's coach Brian Lynch allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Romanian center Alexandru Olah (213-93, college: Northwestern) came up with 13 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Justin Cage (198-85, college: Xavier) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Belfius Mons-Hainaut in the defeat. Four Limburg United and five Belfius Mons-Hainaut players scored in double figures. Limburg United have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain eighth place with 7-10 record. Belfius Mons-Hainaut at the other side dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Kangoeroes. Limburg United will play against higher ranked Basic-Fit Brussels (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
