There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Eighth-ranked Melsele (8-11) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Gembo BBC (14-5) on Saturday. The visitors from Borgerhout managed to secure only three-point victory 93-90. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 53-46 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Gembo BBC made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Tomas Goethaert (183-83) who scored 23 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Swingman Sam Renier (187-92) chipped in 18 points. Dutch power forward Patrick Hilliman (206-82, college: High Point) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Gembo BBC moved-up to third place, which they share with Oxaco. Melsele lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Gembo BBC is looking forward to face Ninane (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Melsele will play against Soba in Antwerpen and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Waregem (15-4) against eighth ranked Royal Brussels (9-10) on Sunday night. Visiting Waregem was defeated by Royal Brussels in Brussels 76-66. Power forward Stephane Moris (208-86, agency: Promotex) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Adam Hall contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Forward Thomas Foucart (192-84) replied with 12 points and 7 rebounds for Waregem. Waregem's coach Olivier Foucart rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Royal Brussels moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Giants B. Waregem at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Royal Brussels will play against bottom-ranked Gistel Oostende (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Waregem will play against Ieper (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Houthalen supposed to be also quite interesting. 5th ranked Soba (10-9) played at the court of sixth ranked Houthalen (11-8). Houthalen smashed Soba 83-53 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Soba. Worth to mention a great performance of Chiel Koonings who helped to win the game recording 21 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots). Amaury Marion responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Houthalen have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser Soba dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Houthalen will meet Ekeren (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Soba will play against Melsele (#9) and hope to secure a win.

The winners were led by Geoffrey Hockins who scored that evening 17 points and 6 rebounds. RPC Anderlecht's coach Philippe Hoornaert used entire bench in such tough game. Newly promoted RPC Anderlecht maintains twelfth position with 5-13 record. Ekeren at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth place with 14 games lost. RPC Anderlecht's next round opponent will be higher ranked Giants B (#7) in Antwerp and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ekeren will play at home against Houthalen (#5) and hope to win that game.

They maintain third position with 14-5 record behind leader Gent Hawks, which they share with Gembo BBC. Gistel Oostende lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Oxaco will face league's leader Gent Hawks on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gistel Oostende will play against Royal Brussels (#8) and hope to win that game.

In the last two games of round 20 Gent Hawks defeated Ninane in a road game 87-79. Giants B beat Ieper at home 75-65.

Royal Brussels - Waregem 76-66

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Waregem (15-4) against eighth ranked Royal Brussels (9-10) on Sunday night. Visiting Waregem was defeated by Royal Brussels in Brussels 76-66. It looked good early as Waregem took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Royal Brussels had a 23-7 second period charge getting the lead and Waregem was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-76. Royal Brussels dominated on the defensive end, holding Waregem to just 7 points in second quarter. They made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Houthalen outrebounded Soba 44-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Chiel Koonings (180-90) who helped to win the game recording 21 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and forward Bart Maesen (198-89) who added 16 points and 5 assists during the contest. No shocking result in a game in Antwerp where seventh ranked Giants B (9-10) defeated 10th ranked Ieper (7-12) 75-65 on Friday. Giants B dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ieper's 24. The best player for the winners was center Bert Van Den Broek (201-92) who scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Philippe Peeters (188-95) chipped in 15 points. Swingman Robin Mestdagh (195-88, college: E.Kentucky) produced 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Senegalese-Spanish power forward Mamadou Diop (204-93) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests.
