   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Sam Van Rossom (188-86, currently plays in EuroCup). He could not help Valencia Basket (6-0) in their last game. Despite Van Rossom's good performance the league leader Valencia Basket lost 71-79 on the road to the second-ranked Unicaja Malaga. He was the second best scorer with 11 points. Van Rossom also added 5 passes in 21 minutes on the court. It's Van Rossom's fourth season with the team. This year he averages: 5.6ppg, 1.6rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 43.9%, 3FGP: 31.0% and FT: 92.9% in 21 games he played so far. Van Rossom is currently a member of the Belgian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Maxime De Zeeuw (206-87, currently plays in Germany). He contributed to a EWE Baskets' victory against the closely-ranked ALBA Berlin (17-11) 93-81 in the German BBL last Sunday. De Zeeuw recorded 9 points. EWE Baskets Oldenburg (14-12) is placed seventh in the BBL. They ended the series of four consecutive loses. It's De Zeeuw's first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 9.9ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.5apg, 2FGP: 54.5%, 3FGP: 43.7% and FT: 83.7%. Ex-Verviers-Pepinster player is in the roster of the Belgian senior national team.

   #3. The Belgian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Jonathan Tabu (189-85, currently plays in Spain). Tabu was not able to help RETAbet BB in their game against Real Madrid (18-7) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. He scored 9 points, made 5 passes and 3 steals in 23 minutes. But RETAbet BB was crushed 104-76 in Madrid by the higher-ranked (#4) Real. It was RETAbet BB's third consecutive loss in a row. This year Tabu's overall stats are: 7.8ppg, 1.9rpg, 3.4apg, 2FGP: 39.7%, 3FGP: 36.8% and FT: 81.0% in 20 games. He has a dual citizenship: Belgian and Congolese. Tabu is also a member of the Belgian senior national team.

Power forward Kevin Tumba (205-91, currently plays in Spain) helped UCAM Murcia win their game against the league leader CB Canarias (19-7) 79-68 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. He scored 6 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Universidad Catolica de Murcia CB (10-15) is placed 11th in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Tumba's total stats this season are: 3.1ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.1bpg. He is another player who holds two passports: DR Congolese and Belgian. Tumba is also Belgian national team player.

   #5. International guard Quentin Serron (190-90, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for Gravelines-Dunkerque (14-11) in their last game. Despite his good performance Gravelines-Dunkerque was badly defeated 92-72 on the opponent's court by the leading Monaco. Serron recorded 10 points in 19 minutes. It was Gravelines-Dunkerque's first loss after three consecutive victories. This year Serron's total stats are: 2.8ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.3apg in six games. He plays currently for the Belgian national team.

   #6. An experienced forward Axel Hervelle (205-83, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jonathan Tabu and both played together in the last Spanish Liga Endesa game. Hervelle couldn't help RETAbet BB (10-13) in their game against Real Madrid (18-7). He scored 5 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. RETAbet BB was crushed 104-76 in Madrid by the higher-ranked Real (#4). Hervelle has been at the team for seven years. Hervelle has averaged so far 6.0ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Belgian National Team roster.

International guard Retin Obasohan (185-93, college: Alabama, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Scandone AV (15-10) in their game against Umana Venezia (17-8) in the Italian Serie A. Obasohan cannot count Monday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 2 points. Scandone AV was edged 78-75 in Venezia by the second-ranked Umana. Obasohan has averaged so far 6.0ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.5apg. He is also Belgian national team player.

   #8. Swingman Gael Hulsen (193-90, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help SG Schwelmer Baskets (21-5) in their game against Muenster (20-6) in the German Regionalliga (fourth division). Hulsen scored 7 points. The first-placed SG Schwelmer Baskets (21-5) was defeated 89-82 on the opponent's court by the second-ranked Muenster in the West group. It was SG Schwelmer Baskets' first loss after six consecutive victories. The Regular Season already ended. Hulsen has averaged so far 8.0ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.7apg. He used to play for the Belgian U20 national team back in 2009.

Former international point guard Dimitri Lauwers (187-79, currently plays in Italy) managed to help Bergamo Basket 2014 to win against the sixth-ranked Faenza (16-11) 86-77 in the Italian Serie B (third division) last Sunday. Lauwers scored only 4 points. Bergamo Basket 2014 (22-5) is placed second in Group B. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Lauwers has averaged so far 2.8ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.7apg. He used to play for the Belgian national team five years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Belgian passport but never been selected to any of Belgian national teams:

   #1. Jonathan Dubas (204-F/C-91, currently plays in Switzerland) contributed to an easy victory against the third-ranked Lugano Tigers (15-8) crushing them 80-52 in the Swiss LNA in Saturday night's game. Dubas had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 14 rebounds in 26 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-6. BBC Monthey (16-7) is placed second. There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. Dubas has averaged so far 9.1ppg, 7.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.2spg in 23 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Belgian and Swiss.

   #2. Ruphin Kayembe (200-F/C-92, currently plays in France) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Rueil (18-13) crushing them 84-62 in the French NM1 (third division) on Saturday night. Kayembe recorded 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 17 minutes. BC Souffelweyersheim (20-11) is placed third in the NM1. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Kayembe has relatively good stats this year: 12.0ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.7apg in 30 games. He is another player who holds two passports: DR Congolese and Belgian.

   #3. Leigh Enobakhare (206-C-86, agency: Court Side, currently plays in Holland) managed to help Zorg and Zekerheid Leiden to win against one of league's weakest teams Rotterdam (4-21) 86-72 in the Dutch Eredivisie in Saturday night's game. Enobakhare scored only 2 points. Zorg and Zekerheid Leiden (17-9) is placed third in the Eredivisie. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Enobakhare has averaged so far 3.8ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.2bpg and 1.1spg. He has both Nigerian and Belgian nationalities.

   #4. Stan Leemans (205-C-92, currently plays in Switzerland). Leemans could not help Fribourg (3-0) to beat Starwings (11-12). He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Leemans scored only 2 points in 12 minutes. The first-placed Fribourg (3-0) was edged 74-72 on the road by the lower-ranked (#6) Starwings in the Places 1-6 group. There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be extremely important. Leemans has averaged so far 1.4ppg and 1.2rpg in 17 games. He also holds two passports: Belgian and Swiss.

   #5. Charly Pontens (190-PG-95, currently plays in France) was not able to help ADA Blois in their game against ALM Evreux (13-12) in the French ProB (second division). Pontens cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 2 points in 10 minutes. ADA Blois was edged 76-74 in Evreux by the lower-ranked (#8) ALM Evreux. Pontens has averaged so far 3.1ppg and 1.6apg in 22 games. He has dual citizenship: Belgian and French.

20-year old point guard Sigfredo Casero-Ortiz (185-PG-97) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Spirou B and receives a Eurobasket.com Top Division I Player of the Week award for round 7. He had the game-high 26 points adding two rebounds and three assists for Spirou B in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Oxaco (#5, 4-2) 95-92. Top Division I round 7 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Soba (5-2) against tenth ranked Ieper (3-3) 83-66 was the most important game of the last round. Ieper outrebounded Soba 37-26 including 29 on the defensive glass.
