Here is the weekly review of the top performing Belgian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Jonathan Tabu (189-85, currently plays in Spain). He led RETAbet BB to a surprising victory over the second-ranked Valencia Basket (20-7) 88-75 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Wednesday night's game. Tabu was MVP of the game. He scored 27 points (!!!) and added 4 assists in 26 minutes on the court. RETAbet Bilbao Basket (12-14) is placed ninth in the Liga Endesa. This year Tabu averages: 9.3ppg, 1.9rpg, 3.4apg, 2FGP: 47.1%, 3FGP: 38.5% in 23 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Belgian and Congolese. Tabu is currently a member of the Belgian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Maxime De Zeeuw (206-87, currently plays in Germany). He contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked BBC Bayreuth (20-9) 83-64 in the German BBL last Saturday. De Zeeuw recorded 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. EWE Baskets Oldenburg (16-13) is placed seventh in the BBL. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. The Belgian player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced international forward Axel Hervelle (205-83, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jonathan Tabu and both played together in the last Spanish Liga Endesa game. Hervelle contributed to a RETAbet BB's shocking victory against the second-ranked Valencia Basket (20-7) 88-75. He scored 8 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 27 minutes. It's Hervelle's seventh season with the team. This year Hervelle's overall stats are: 6.1ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.9apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 45.9%, 3FGP: 27.1% and FT: 76.9% in 27 games. He is also a member of the Belgian senior national team.

   #6. Point guard Sam Van Rossom (188-86, currently plays in Spain) faced previously mentioned Jonathan Tabu in the Spanish Liga Endesa last game. Van Rossom. He could not help Valencia Basket (20-7) to beat RETAbet BB (12-14). Van Rossom did not beat the league record on Wednesday evening. He scored only 2 points and added 3 assists. Valencia Basket was defeated 88-75 on the road by the much lower-ranked RETAbet BB (#9). Van Rossom has been at the team for four years. Van Rossom has averaged so far 5.4ppg, 1.3rpg and 2.2apg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Belgian National Team roster.

   #7. International swingman Elias Lasisi (192-92, currently plays in France) was not able to help Le Portel in their game against Chalon/Saor (21-7) in the French ProA. He recorded 8 points in 15 minutes. Le Portel lost 76-83 on the opponent's court to the second-ranked Chalon/Saor. They ended the series of three consecutive victories. Lasisi has averaged so far 7.9ppg and 2.2rpg in nine games. He is also Belgian national team player.

   #9. Former international point guard Dimitri Lauwers (187-79, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Bergamo (23-6) in their game against Desio (14-15) in the Italian Serie B (third division). Lauwers scored 7 points in 23 minutes. The second-placed Bergamo (23-6) lost 64-70 on the opponent's court to the much lower-ranked (#9) Desio in the Group B. It was Bergamo's first loss after three consecutive victories. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. Lauwers has averaged so far 4.0ppg, 2.4rpg and 2.4apg in eight games. He used to play for the Belgian national team five years ago.

   #1. Leigh Enobakhare (206-C-86, agency: Court Side, currently plays in Holland). Enobakhare could not help Leiden (19-9) to beat Amsterdam (9-19). He recorded 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in only 13 minutes. Leiden was edged 82-79 at home by the lower-ranked (#6) Amsterdam. Enobakhare has averaged so far 3.7ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.1bpg and 1.1spg in 14 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Nigerian and Belgian.

   #2. Tyler Haws (193-G-91, college: BYU, currently plays in Poland) contributed to Anwil's victory against the closely-ranked BM Slam Stal (20-10) 75-71 in the Polish PLK last Sunday. Haws scored 6 points. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Anwil Wloclawek (22-7) is placed second in the PLK. It was his team's 12th consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Haws has averaged so far 9.5ppg and 2.0rpg. He is a naturalized American. Despite Haws' Belgian passport, he previously played for the USA university national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Belgian team. Strangely Haws has never played in Belgium.

   #3. Jonathan Dubas (204-F/C-91, currently plays in Switzerland) led Monthey to a victory against the fourth-ranked Geneve Lions (14-10) 75-65 in the Swiss LNA last Saturday. He recorded 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 32 minutes. BBC Monthey (17-7) is placed second in Places 1-6 group. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Second Stage. And now that game is very crucial. Dubas has averaged so far 9.2ppg, 6.9rpg, 2.0apg and 1.2spg in 24 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Belgian and Swiss.

   #4. Charly Pontens (190-PG-95, currently plays in France) managed to help ADA Blois Basket 41 to win against the closely-ranked Lille Metropole (16-12) 75-65 in the French ProB (second division) on Saturday night. Pontens recorded 5 points. ADA Blois Basket 41 (15-12) is placed fifth in the ProB. Pontens has averaged so far 3.5ppg and 1.6apg. He has both Belgian and French nationalities.   

Casero-Ortiz's 26 points give him Top Division I Player of the Week award - 19 hours ago
20-year old point guard Sigfredo Casero-Ortiz (185-PG-97) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Spirou B and receives a Top Division I Player of the Week award for round 7. He had the game-high 26 points adding two rebounds and three assists for Spirou B in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Oxaco (#5, 4-2) 95-92. Top Division I round 7 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Soba (5-2) against tenth ranked Ieper (3-3) 83-66 was the most important game of the last round. Ieper outrebounded Soba 37-26 including 29 on the defensive glass.
