The Regular Season in Top Division I just started.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Houthalen (0-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Soba (1-0) 78-71. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 50-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Soba forced 19 Houthalen turnovers. Strangely Houthalen outrebounded Soba 49-32 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by Houthalen helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Anthony Goetgeluck (182-92) fired 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Dutch center Kenneth van-Kempen (207-87, college: Ohio, agency: Court Side) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Bart Maesen (198-89) produced 18 points for lost side. Houthalen's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Soba is looking forward to face Ninane at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Houthalen will play against Melsele (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
Another exciting game was between Gent Hawks and Neufchateau where Gent Hawks (1-0) crushed Neufchateau (0-1) on the road with 23-point difference 87-64. Gent Hawks will play against Spirou B (#4) in the next round. Neufchateau will play against Royal Brussels (#9) to get more than just one victory in their record.
A very close game took place in Waregem between Waregem and Ieper. Waregem (1-0) got a very close home victory over Ieper (0-1). Waregem managed to escape with a 2-point win 72-70 on Saturday evening. Stan Naudts stepped up and scored 16 points for the winners. At the losing side Robin Spaens responded with 18 points. Waregem will meet Gembo BBC (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ieper will play against Oxaco (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Sami Demirtas nailed 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Spirou B's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Spirou B's next round opponent will be Gent Hawks on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week.

In the last game of round 1 Melsele lost to Ninane in a road game 59-67.
