   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Sam Van-Rossom (188-86, currently plays in Spain). He led Valencia Basket to a victory against the 15th-ranked Real Betis (0-1) 90-80 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. Van-Rossom recorded 12 points in 20 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Valencia Basket this season. His team is placed seventh in the Liga Endesa. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Van-Rossom's fifth year with the team. He is currently a member of the Belgian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Khalid Boukichou (208-92, agency: Two Points, currently plays in France). Boukichou was the major contributor in Pau-Lacq-Orthez's victory against the closely-ranked JSF Nanterre (2-0) 89-75 in the French ProA last Tuesday. He scored 13 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez (2-1) is placed seventh in the ProA. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Boukichou's first year with the team. This season Boukichou averages: 9.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 2FGP: 61.5%, 3FGP: 22.2% and FT: 66.7%. He has a dual citizenship: Moroccan and Belgian. Ex-Kon. BC Duva Fruit Gistel Oostende player is in the roster of the Belgian senior national team.

   #3. The Belgian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Maxime De Zeeuw (206-87, currently plays in Germany). De Zeeuw managed to help EWE Baskets Oldenburg in a victory against the closely-ranked BG Goettingen (1-1) 93-85 in the German BBL on Saturday night. He recorded only 4 points in 8 minutes on the court. It was his first game for EWE Baskets this season. His team is placed fifth in the BBL. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Ex-Verviers-Pepinster player is also a member of the Belgian senior national team.

   #4. Guard Retin Obasohan (185-93, college: Alabama, currently plays in Germany) could not help Oettinger Rockets Gotha (0-1) in their last game. Despite his good performance Oettinger Rockets Gotha lost 69-82 on the road to the much higher-ranked (#7) Mitteldeutscher BC. Obasohan recorded 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in 29 minutes. It was his first game for Oettinger Rockets Gotha this season. Obasohan is another player who holds two passports: Belgian and Nigerian. He is also Belgian national team player.

   #5. International point guard Jonathan Tabu (189-85, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help RETAbet BB in their game against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (1-0) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Tabu recorded 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. It was his first game for RETAbet BB this season. RETAbet BB was defeated 82-68 in Madrid by the second-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada. Tabu has both Belgian and Congolese nationalities. He plays currently for the Belgian national team.

   #6. Guard Quentin Serron (190-90, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for Gravelines-Dunkerque (2-0) in their game against JDA Dijon (0-3) in the French ProA. Serron scored 9 points, made 4 passes and 3 steals in 33 minutes. But Gravelines-Dunkerque lost 70-80 in Dijon to the much lower-ranked (#16) JDA Dijon. This year Serron's overall stats are: 4.5ppg, 2.0apg and 1.5spg in two games he played so far. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Belgian National Team roster.

   #7. International power forward Kevin Tumba (205-91, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help UCAM Murcia (0-1) in their game against Unicaja Malaga (1-0) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Tumba cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. It was his first game for UCAM Murcia this season. UCAM Murcia was defeated 74-64 at home by the much higher-ranked Unicaja Malaga (#7). Tumba is also Belgian national team player.

Axel Hervelle

   #8. An experienced forward Axel Hervelle (205-83, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jonathan Tabu and both played together in the last Spanish Liga Endesa game. Hervelle couldn't help RETAbet BB (0-1) in their game against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (1-0). He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Hervelle recorded only one point and grabbed 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. It was his first game for RETAbet BB this season. RETAbet BB lost 68-82 in Madrid to the second-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada. Hervelle has been at the team for eight years. He plays currently for the Belgian national team.

Pierre-Antoine Gillet
   #9. International forward Pierre-Antoine Gillet (201-91, currently plays in France) couldn't help Chalon/Saor (0-3) in their game against Paris-Levallois (1-2) in the French ProA. Gillet cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Chalon/Saor was edged 79-77 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Paris-Levallois (#14). So far Chalon/Saor lost all three games in the Regular Season. Gillet's total stats this season are: 1.7ppg and 3.7rpg. He is also in the roster of the Belgian national team.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Belgian passport:

   #1. Jonathan Dubas (204-F/C-91, currently plays in Switzerland) led Monthey to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Boncourt (0-1) 89-70 in the Swiss LNA in Saturday night's game. Dubas recorded 14 points. It was his first game for Monthey this season. His team is placed fifth in the LNA. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Dubas has a dual citizenship: Belgian and Swiss.

20-year old point guard Sigfredo Casero-Ortiz (185-PG-97) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Spirou B and receives a Eurobasket.com Top Division I Player of the Week award for round 7. He had the game-high 26 points adding two rebounds and three assists for Spirou B in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Oxaco (#5, 4-2) 95-92. Top Division I round 7 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Soba (5-2) against tenth ranked Ieper (3-3) 83-66 was the most important game of the last round. Ieper outrebounded Soba 37-26 including 29 on the defensive glass.
