Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bosnia and Herzegovina players, who play currently abroad.


Mirza Teletovic

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Mirza Teletovic (206-85, agency: Beo Basket), who plays in the Spanish ACB. Teletovic could not help one of league's weakest teams Caja Laboral (23-11) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance Caja Laboral was defeated 76-69 on the road by the second-ranked Real Madrid. Teletovic was the top scorer with 14 points. It's Teletovic's sixth season with the team. He belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #3. Teletovic has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.8ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 52.8%, 3FGP: 34.5% and FT: 63.8%. Despite Teletovic played previously for the Serbian national team, he played also for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team in 2012.

   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Vanja Plisnic (205-80, also represented by Beo Basket). Plisnic was not able to help Banco di Sardegna Sassari (20-12) in their game against Montepaschi Siena (24-8) in the Italian SerieA, despite his very good performance on Wednesday night. He was the top scorer with 18 points. Plisnic also added 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 26 minutes. But Banco di Sardegna Sassari was crushed 92-66 in Siena by the leading Montepaschi. It's Plisnic's first season with the team. This year his overall stats are: 8.9ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 55.1%(75-136), 3FGP: 39.8% and FT: 64.6% in the 37 games he played so far. Plisnic has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbian. Despite he played previously for the Serbian national team, Plisnic played also for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team in 2012.

Goran Suton

   #3. The Bosnia and Herzegovina player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Goran Suton (209-85, college: Michigan St.). He was the major contributor in Cibona's victory against the second-ranked Cedevita (11-3) 82-64 in a derby game in the Croatian A1 in Tuesday night's game. Suton scored 13 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in Group Championship. KK Cibona VIP Zagreb (14-0) is placed first in Championship Group. So far his team won all fourteen games in the Finals. Suton has relatively good stats this season: 10.1ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 55.1%(59-107), 3FGP: 53.3%(16-30) and FT: 78.1%. He is another player who holds two passports: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian. Despite Suton played previously for the Croatian national team, he played also for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team in 2012.

   #4. Guard Ernest Bremer (194-80, agency: Higher Vision Sports, college: St.Bonaventure) led Armani Milano to a victory against the sixth-ranked Scavolini Pesaro (19-13) 84-75 in the Italian SerieA last Tuesday. Bremer recorded 13 points in a mere 19 minutes. EA7 Emporio Armani Milano (22-10) is placed second in the SerieA. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. This year Bremer's total stats are: 9.8ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.5apg in the 13 games. He is a naturalized American. Despite Bremer played previously for the USA national team, he is currently in the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team roster. Bremer used to play for Bosna ASA BH Telecom Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina league.

Zack Wright

   #5. International guard Zack Wright (188-85, college: Central Mo.) is a teammate of previously mentioned Goran Suton and both played together in the last Croatian A1 game. Wright led Cibona to a victory over the second-ranked Cedevita (11-3) 82-64 in a derby game. He was MVP of the game. Wright scored 14 points. Wright is ranked seventh on the list of the best passers in the league and also on the list of most steals (third place). He has averaged so far 8.8ppg, 4.1rpg, 3.5apg and 2.2spg. Wright is a naturalized American. Despite he played previously for the USA national team, Wright is currently in the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team roster. Strangely he has never played in Bosnia.

   #6. Center Stanko Barac (217-86) was not able to secure a victory for Anadolu Efes (24-6) in their game against Besiktas (22-8) in the Turkish TBL, despite his good performance in Tuesday night's game. Barac was the second best scorer with 11 points in a mere 18 minutes. But Anadolu Efes lost 75-82 in a derby game to the lower-ranked (#4) Besiktas. Barac has averaged so far 6.8ppg and 3.2rpg in the 33 games. Despite he played previously for the Croatian national team, Barac is also international player as he played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior team years ago.

   #7. International center Mirza Begic (217-85) couldn't help Real Madrid (26-8) in their game against Caja Laboral (23-11) in the Spanish ACB. He scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Real Madrid was edged in an overtime 82-79 in Vitoria by the lower-ranked Caja Laboral (#3). Begic belongs to league's best blockers and is ranked #4. He has averaged so far 5.5ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.4bpg. Despite Begic played previously for the Slovenian national team, he is currently in the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team roster.

An experienced swingman Veselin Petrovic (196-77, another player represented by Beo Basket) contributed to a Base Oostende's victory against the closely-ranked Spirou Charleroi (23-9) 72-68 in the Belgian Ethias League on Wednesday night. Petrovic scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 21 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Telenet Oostende (23-9) is placed first in the Ethias League. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Petrovic has been at the team for seven years. He has averaged so far 6.6ppg and 3.2rpg in the 25 games. Despite Petrovic played previously for the Serbian national team, he is currently in the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team roster.

   #9. International shooting guard Ivan Opacak (201-80) helped Cedevita win their n overtime game against the leader Cibona (14-0) 79-70 in a derby game in the Croatian A1 in Saturday night's game. Opacak scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in Group Championship. KK Cedevita Zagreb (11-3) is placed second in Championship Group. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Opacak has averaged so far 8.0ppg and 2.1rpg. Despite he played previously for the Croatian national team, Opacak is currently in the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team roster.

   #10. Center Mile Ilic (215-84, agency: Interperformances) helped Zvezda win their game against the second-ranked Radnicki Kragujevac (10-4) 76-62 in the Serbian A League last Tuesday. He scored 6 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 16 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group SuperLiga. Crvena Zvezda Beograd (0-0) is placed first. Ilic has averaged so far 6.4ppg and 4.1rpg in the 15 games. Despite he played previously for the Serbian national team, Ilic is also international player as years ago he still played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team.

   #11. Former international point guard Vedran Princ (192-82) is a teammate of previously mentioned Ivan Opacak. He played also in the last Croatian A1 game facing Goran Suton (above) in the other team. Princ couldn't help Cedevita in their game against Cibona. He cannot count Tuesday's game as one of the best ones. Princ scored only 3 points. His team was badly defeated by 18 points 82-64. Princ has averaged so far 3.8ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.1apg. He used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team five years ago.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Bosnia and Herzegovina passport:

   #1. Marko Keselj (205-F-88, agency: Beo Basket) contributed to Olympiacos' victory against the closely-ranked Panathinaikos (22-2) 84-72 in a derby game in the Greek A1 in Sunday night's game. He scored 10 points in only 11 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus (23-1) is placed first in the A1. It was his team's 20th consecutive victory in a row. This year Keselj averages: 5.8ppg and 2.5rpg in the 26 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbian. Despite Keselj's Bosnia and Herzegovina passport, he currently plays for the Serbian national team and is not eligible to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina team.

Igokea - Bosna-Royal 96-72 Igokea celebrated the Bosnian League title. They crushed Bosna-Royal to claim the trophy. The game was mostly controlled by Igokea. Bosna-Royal managed to win fourth quarter 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. KSBiH Premier League Recap 2016-17! Igokea: 28-17 (13-13 ABA League 1-1 qualifying for Champions League) (9-1 5-2) The team was streaky in the ABA league going through a three game losing streak and a four game losing streak. The team also went through a 1-5 stretch in the season. That said the team still was ultra-competitive and ended up in fifth place in the ABA league. That experience helped the team run through the Bosnian leg of their competition until facing KK BOSNA in the finals.    [read more]
