The first Bosnian player who declares himself as such, the first Bosnian NT member who made it to the NBA, Mirza Teletovic (206-PF-85) will have his official NBA debut on Saturday vs. the Raptors. Namely, Mirza's team, Brooklyn Nets were supposed to open the season yesterday vs. the Knicks. However, due to Hurricane that recently hit the East coast, the game vs. the Knicks has been rescheduled for 26.11. and will be aired on TNT.
The Brooklyn Nets home opener and Mirza's official debut at Barclays Center will be tomorrow at 7:30 PM. During the preseason games Mirza Teletovic has shown that he is ready to contribute from day one. Probably not as much as we are used to see him since American style of play is quite different and takes time to get used to it. Mirza has already proven that he can score against very good teams. Even on defensive end Teletovic looked solid for most part. Like every new European player he is at mercy of NBA's referees who make frustrating calls. New European players in the NBA are under such a scrutiny by the refs it is hard to remain calm. That's been the case for the last 23 years, ever since Drazen Petrovic, Vlade Divac, Sarunas Marculionis, Zarko Paspalj and Sasha Volkov moved to the NBA. All of them have been called for questionable personal fouls, traveling and other game violations. The NBA seems to encourage such behavior by refs who don't call obvious traveling to most US players. European players are unknowns for them. Disrespect by referees is why most European players have troubles with personal fouls in their first seasons. Personal fouls have been the issue for Mirza as well during this preseason. But he is a smart player who will gradually adjust to the NBA style of play. Once he becomes comfortable in the Nets system and his role we can expect to enjoy watching Mirza Teletovic playing against the best players in the World. Start might be rough, but there is no doubt that Mirza Teletovic will make a great career in the NBA.

He has struggled with development and injuries the last few seasons and has become an afterthought for both BiH and the Spanish National Team. He's playing for Nautico KIA Tenerife this season in the Spanish EBA. His stats so far this season in 13 games are 14mpg 6.6ppg 2.2rbpg .8stls while shooting 48.9% from two, 45% from three and 72.2% from the FT line. He is a key player for the club coming off the bench this season but much more was expected of him after being a member of the Spanish U16 team a few years ago.
Sandro Gacic: He's another 20 year old Bosnian playing in the EBA league in Spain this season. He declined the invitation to play with the Bosnian U20 team last summer so he could focus on studies and improving his game and it has paid off so far this season. He's been one of the best players for his team Cantbasket this season. In 12 games he is averaging 27mpg 13.3ppg 3.2rbpg 2.7aspg 1.3stls. He is struggling with his shooting however averaging 40.8% from two, 33.7% from three and 73.2% from the FT line. Five years ago he was considered an elite prospect in Europe, possibly the best guard on the old continent. He hasn't lived up to that advanced billing but has shown slow, steady improvement over time. There has been a question how much he actually loves the game of basketball but that is a question for him to answer.
Nikola Maric: the member of the BiH U18 team is playing a solid role for his club in the EBA this season. He's played in 9 games so far averaging 23mpg 10.7ppg 5.6rbpg 1.1aspg and he is shooting 50% from two, 25% from three and 81% from the FT line.
Lazar Mutic: He has struggled mightily in the EBA league this season. He has played in 7 games averaging 15mpg 3.3ppg 3.9rbpg while shooting 21.9% from two and 30% from the FT line.
Sani Campara: He too is playing in the EBA league in Spain for Real Madrid II. He has played in 9 games so far averaging 23mpg 6.3ppg 1.6rbpg 1.3aspg while shooting 53.8% from two, 20% from three and 83.3% from the FT line so far on the season.
Aleksandar Lazic: He has played a major role for his club in Serbia Dynamic BG Belgrade this season. He's played in 11 games averaging 26mpg 8.5ppg 6.8rbpg 1.1aspg 1.7stls while shooting 54.4% from two, 24.1% from three and 64.7% from the FT line. He is a solid shooter when left open and even with his injuries he has solid athleticism. He has yet to have a breakout year with a club team but he is still young and a breakout year is still possible.
Amar Gegic: The elite athletically gifted guard moved onto Bayern from Spars Sarajevo this year and has put his immense talents on display for the German club. He's played in 10 games so far averaging 20mpg 8.5ppg 2.8rbpg 2.3aspg 1.2stls while shooting 58.1% from two, 10% from three (2-20 so far) and 69% from the FT line.
Dejan Kovacevic: He has struggled lately for Bayern II and has not made the impact expected this season. He's played 14 games so far averaging 22mpg 11ppg 3.9rbpg while shooting 65.2% from two, 37% from three and 84.4% from the FT line.
Amar Balic: He's having a solid season for his team in Italy so far. He's played in 16 games averaging 35mpg 10.8ppg 4.8rbpg 4.9aspg 1.2stls. He is struggling with his shooting however averaging 41.9% from two, 28.6% from three and 67.9% from the FT line. He is struggling with turnovers as well, averaging 4 per game so far on the season.
Nedim Muslic: One of the best young 3x3 players in the world is playing well for his club in Qatar as well. The 200cm forward has played in 9 games so far averaging 22mpg 7.2ppg 5.7rbpg 1.4aspg 1.3stls while shooting 55.6% from two, 26.9% from three and 40% from the FT line.
