Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bosnia and Herzegovina players, who play currently abroad.


Zack Wright

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Zack Wright (195-85, college: Central Mo., currently plays in Eurocup). Wright was the major contributor in a Spartak St.Petersburg's victory against the closely-ranked Cibona (0-1) 64-56 in the Eurocup last Wednesday. He recorded 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Spartak St.Petersburg this season. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. His team is placed second in the Eurocup. Wright is a naturalized American. He is currently a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team. Strangely Wright has never played in Bosnia.

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Nihad Djedovic (198-90, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Germany. He could not help ALBA Berlin (2-3) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Djedovic's very good performance the third-placed ALBA Berlin was edged 78-76 on the road by the leading Maccabi T-A in the group B of Euroleague. He was the top scorer with 17 points. Djedovic also added 7 rebounds. This season Djedovic averages: 8.4ppg, 2.6rpg, 1.8spg, 2FGP: 40.7%, 3FGP: 42.9% and FT: 68.8%. He is in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team.

   #3. The Bosnia and Herzegovina player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Mirza Teletovic (206-85, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in NBA). Teletovic managed to help Brooklyn Nets to win against the Orlando Magic (2-4) crushing them 107-68 in the NBA in Friday night's game. He scored 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. The Brooklyn Nets have 3-2 record this season. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Teletovic's overall stats this season are: 4.3ppg, 2.0rpg, 3FGP: 27.3%. He is also a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team.

Point guard Zlatko Jovanovic (181-84, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in EuroChallenge) led his Romanian team Timisoara to a victory against the third-ranked Kormend (0-1) 75-65 in the EuroChallenge last Tuesday. Jovanovic recorded 13 points and added 5 assists (made all of his six free throws) in 22 minutes. It was his first game for Timisoara this season. His team is placed first in group F. Jovanovic used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team back in 2009.

   #5. Former international center Esmir Rizvic (213-82, college: Texas Tech, currently plays in Slovenia) contributed to an easy victory against the ninth-ranked LTHcast Mercator (1-3) crushing them 91-61 in the Slovenian Telemach League in Saturday night's game. He recorded 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 20 minutes. KK Maribor Messer (3-1) is placed first in the Telemach League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Rizvic's first season with the team. Rizvic has relatively good stats this year: 11.8ppg and 5.3rpg in the four games he played so far. He used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team three years ago.

   #6. An experienced point guard Sasa Vasiljevic (180-79, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Ukraine), who plays in the Ukrainian Superleague was not able to help Halychyna (9-4) in their last game. Despite his good performance Halychyna lost 78-85 at home to the lower-ranked (#8) Kryvbasbasket. Vasiljevic was the second best scorer with 14 points. He also added 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) in 33 minutes. This year Vasiljevic's overall stats are: 8.9ppg, 1.5rpg, 5.5apg and 1.2spg in the 13 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team roster.

   #7. International guard Ernest Bremer (194-80, agency: Higher Vision Sports, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in Turkey) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams Fenerbahce Ulker (4-1) in their game against Karsiyaka (4-1) in the Turkish TBL. Bremer scored 6 points. Fenerbahce Ulker was defeated 72-66 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Karsiyaka (#3). They ended the series of four consecutive victories. Bremer's total stats this season are: 4.0ppg and 2.0apg. He is a naturalized American. Bremer used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team last year. He played also for Bosna ASA BH Telecom Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina league.

Forward Ante Masic (200-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Adriatic League) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams one of league's weakest teams Cibona (4-4) in their game against Radnicki KG (4-4) in the Adriatic League. Despite his very good performance on Saturday night Masic was the second best scorer with 15 points. He also added 4 rebounds. Masic's total stats this season are: 5.8ppg and 3.1rpg. He plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

International guard Goran Ikonic (196-80, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Ukraine) is a teammate of previously mentioned Sasa Vasiljevic and both played together in the last Ukrainian Superleague game. Ikonic couldn't help Halychyna (9-4) in their game against Kryvbasbasket (6-7). Despite his good performance last Friday He recorded 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Ikonic's total stats this season are: 8.9ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.2apg. He is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #10. Center Ognjen Kuzmic (215-90, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help FIATC Joventut (4-3) in their game against Blancos de Rueda (4-3) in the Spanish ACB. Kuzmic recorded 6 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. FIATC Joventut was defeated in an overtime 89-84 on their home court in Badalona by the higher-ranked Blancos de Rueda (#8). Kuzmic's total stats this season are: 6.0ppg and 5.6rpg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team roster.

   #11. International guard Henry Domercant (194-80, college: E.Illinois, currently plays in Eurocup) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Trefl Sopot crushing them 94-65 in the Eurocup on Wednesday night. Domercant recorded only 3 points. It was his first game for Galatasaray this season. Domercant is a naturalized American. He plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. Apparently Domercant has never played in Bosnia.

   #12. Former international point guard Terell Castle (182-72, agency: Court Side, college: Nicholls St., currently plays in Sweden) led Eco Orebro to a victory over the seventh-ranked 08 Stockholm 90-72 in the Swedish Basketligan in Tuesday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Castle scored 27 points (!!!), had 7 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 30 minutes. Castle is currently fourth on the league's list of best passers with 4.7apg. He also averaged so far 15.9ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.8spg in the 10 games. Castle is a naturalized American. He used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team back in 2007. Castle played also for BC Igokea Partizan Aleksandrovac in Bosnia and Herzegovina league.

   #13. International point guard Aleksej Nesovic (189-85, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Serbia) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams OKK Beograd in their game against Borac in the Serbian A League, despite his very good performance on Saturday night. He was the top scorer with 19 points in 25 minutes. But his team was edged 82-80. This year Nesovic has relatively solid stats: 10.8ppg, 1.6rpg and 1.8apg in the five games. He is also Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player.

   #14. International center Kenan Bajramovic (205-81, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to a Banvit BK's victory against the tenth-ranked Mersin 71-60 in the Turkish TBL in Sunday night's game. Bajramovic scored only 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. His total stats this season are: 5.8ppg and 4.0rpg. Bajramovic plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #15. International center Elmedin Kikanovic (210-88, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Russia) couldn't help Enisey Krasnoyarsk in their game against Lokomotiv in the Russian PBL, despite his very good performance on Sunday night. He was the top scorer with 16 points in a mere 18 minutes. But his team was crushed by 29 points 93-64. Kikanovic is currently ninth on the league's list of top scorers with 9.5ppg. This year his other stats are: 4.3rpg in the four games. Kikanovic is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.


The list of other players, who all have Bosnia and Herzegovina passport but never been selected to any of Bosnia and Herzegovina national teams:

   #1. Zoran Planinic (198-G-82, currently plays in Euroleague) led his Russian team Khimky to a victory over the closely-ranked Panathinaikos (2-3) 79-67 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Planinic scored 18 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 33 minutes. BC Khimky Moscow Region (3-2) is placed third in group A. Planinic is currently fourth on the league's list of best passers with 6.2apg. He also averaged so far 13.0ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.2spg in the five games he played so far. Planinic has a dual citizenship: Croatian and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

   #2. Bojan Bogdanovic (203-SG-89, currently plays in Turkey) was the main contributor in a Fenerbahce Ulker's victory against the 13th-ranked Besiktas (0-4) 83-74 in a derby game in the Turkish TBL last Monday. He was MVP of the game. Bogdanovic recorded 18 points, 3 assists and 3 steals. Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul (4-1) is placed fourth in the TBL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Bogdanovic has relatively good stats this year: 12.8ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.4apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian.

   #3. Mirza Begic (217-C-85, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the 13th-ranked UCAM Murcia (3-4) 79-64 in the Spanish ACB on Sunday night. Begic scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 18 minutes. Real Madrid (7-0) is placed first in the ACB. So far his team won all seven games in the Regular Season. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Begic averages: 5.0ppg and 3.3rpg in the seven games. He has both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian nationalities.

   #4. Damir Markota (209-F-85, currently plays in Turkey) faced previously mentioned Bojan Bogdanovic in the Turkish TBL last game. Markota, who plays in the Turkish TBL could not help Besiktas (3-2) in their last game on Monday. Despite his good performance Besiktas was defeated 83-74 in a derby game by the higher-ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (#4). Markota was the second best scorer with 12 points. He also added 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. It's Markota's first year with the team. This season Markota averages: 8.2ppg, 4.8rpg and 2.8apg. He also holds two passports: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian.

   #5. Toni Bizaca (202-F-82, currently plays in EuroChallenge) contributed to a Sodertalje Kings' victory against the closely-ranked Tampereen Pyrinto (0-1) 74-68 in the EuroChallenge on Tuesday night. He was MVP of the game. Bizaca recorded 23 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. It was his first game for Sodertalje Kings this season. His team is placed second in group C. Bizaca belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #6.

   #6. Suad Sehovic (196-G/F-87, currently plays in Ukraine) was not able to help Khimik in their game against DniproAzot in the Ukrainian Superleague, despite his very good performance in Friday night's game. He was the top scorer with 17 points. Sehovic also added 5 rebounds in 29 minutes. But his team lost 78-83. He has relatively good stats this year: 12.6ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.7apg in the 12 games. Sehovic has dual citizenship: Montenegrin and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

   #7. Simo Atanackovic (206-F-90, currently plays in Slovenia) helped Elektra win their game against the eighth-ranked Grosuplje 68-64 in the Slovenian Telemach League on Saturday night. Atanackovic was MVP of the game. He recorded 13 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks in 34 minutes. Atanackovic has relatively good stats this year: 12.0ppg, 6.0rpg, 1.3bpg and 1.5spg in the four games. He has Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian nationalities. Despite Atanackovic's Bosnia and Herzegovina passport, he previously played for the Slovenian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina team.

   #8. Mirza Hrncic (203-F/C-86, currently plays in Croatia) helped Vrijednosnice OS win their game against the closely-ranked Djuro Djakovic crushing them 84-62 in the Croatian A1 on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Hrncic scored 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Hrncic has relatively good stats this season: 11.8ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.2spg.

   #9. Goran Suton (208-C-85, college: Michigan St., currently plays in Adriatic League) helped his Croatian team Cedevita edge the league leader Igokea 78-76 in the Adriatic League last Monday. Suton recorded 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. This season he averages only 2.4ppg. Suton holds both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian passports.

   #10. Mato Peraica (203-C-81, currently plays in Croatia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mirza Hrncic and both played together in the last Croatian A1 game. Peraica was the major contributor in a Vrijednosnice OS's victory against the closely-ranked Djuro Djakovic crushing them 84-62. He scored 17 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 34 minutes. Peraica belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #8 with 15.7ppg. This year he also averages: 5.3rpg, 1.8apg and 1.2spg in the six games.

OKK Spars Sarajevo (Division I) re-signed 18-year old Serbian forward Aleksa Stepanovic (206-98). He played there last season. In 6 Division I games he averaged 3.3ppg and 1.2rpg. Part of previous (2014-15) season Stepanovic spent at Fair Play Nis (KLS) in Serbian league. He helped them to win the group title. OKK Spars Sarajevo (Division I) confirmed in their roster 19-year old center Alija Piric (211-97). He has played there for the last three seasons. But in 16 Division I games he had just 1.6ppg last season. Piric helped them to make it to the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup Semifinals. He won Bosnian A1 Liga championship title in 2013.
