Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bosnia and Herzegovina players, who play currently abroad.


Kenan Bajramovic

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Kenan Bajramovic (205-81, currently plays in Turkey). He led Banvit BK to a victory over the 14th-ranked Besiktas (0-5) 79-69 in the Turkish TBL last Sunday. Bajramovic was MVP of the game. He scored 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Banvit Basketbol Kulubu (5-1) is placed fifth in the TBL. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Bajramovic averages: 7.5ppg, 4.7rpg, 2FGP: 33.3%, 3FGP: 46.7%(7-15) and FT: 72.7%. He is currently a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team.

Zack Wright

   #2. Second place goes to an international guard Zack Wright (195-85, college: Central Mo., currently plays in VTB United League), who plays in Russia. Wright could not help Spartak St.Petersburg (5-1) in their last game on Friday. Despite his good performance the first-placed Spartak St.Petersburg was edged in an overtime 63-61 on the road by the lower-ranked Krasnie Krilya (#3) in the group A of VTB United League. Wright was the second best scorer with 11 points. He also added 4 passes. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. It's Wright's first year with the team. Wright's overall stats this season are: 4.3ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.3apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 42.9%. He is a naturalized American. Wright is in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team. Strangely he has never played in Bosnia.

Nihad Djedovic

   #3. The Bosnia and Herzegovina player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Nihad Djedovic (198-90, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Germany). He was the main contributor in an ALBA Berlin's victory against one of league's weakest teams Mitteldeutscher BC (2-8) crushing them 91-68 in the German BBL in Sunday night's game. Djedovic was the best player in that game. He scored 15 points and added 4 passes in 28 minutes. ALBA Berlin (5-2) is placed sixth in the BBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Djedovic's first season with the team. Djedovic has relatively good stats this year: 12.7ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.7apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 55.8%(24-43), 3FGP: 12.5% and FT: 85.4% in the seven games he played so far. He is also a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team.

   #4. Point guard Zlatko Jovanovic (181-84, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in EuroChallenge) was not able to help Timisoara (1-1) in their game against EWE Baskets (2-0) in the EuroChallenge. Despite his very good performance last Tuesday Jovanovic was the top scorer with 19 points. He also added 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists (was perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line). There are only four games left until the end of the EuroChallenge Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Jovanovic has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 16.0ppg, 3.5rpg and 4.0apg. Jovanovic used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team back in 2009.

   #5. An experienced international point guard Sasa Vasiljevic (180-79, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Ukraine) contributed to Halychyna's victory against the closely-ranked Ferro-ZNTU (10-4) 93-88 in the Ukrainian Superleague in Sunday night's game. Vasiljevic scored 11 points, made 7 passes and 3 steals. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Politekhnika-Halychyna Lviv (9-4) is placed fourth in the Superleague. Vasiljevic's overall stats this season are: 8.9ppg, 1.5rpg, 5.5apg and 1.2spg. He has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Vasiljevic plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #6. Center Jusuf Nurkic (212-94, currently plays in Adriatic League) contributed to Cedevita's victory against the league outsider Szolnok (2-7) 91-86 in the Adriatic League last Sunday. He scored 9 points in only 12 minutes. KK Cedevita Zagreb (6-3) is placed third in the Adriatic League. This year Nurkic averages only 6.5ppg in the two games. Despite he played previously for the Slovenian U16 national team, Nurkic is also an international player who is currently on the senior Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team roster.

   #7. Former international center Esmir Rizvic (213-82, college: Texas Tech, currently plays in Slovenia) contributed to a 2-point Maribor Messer's victory against the eighth-ranked Tajfun (2-3) 73-71 in the Slovenian Telemach League in Saturday night's game. Rizvic scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 28 minutes. KK Maribor Messer (4-1) is placed first in the Telemach League. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This year Rizvic has relatively solid stats: 11.8ppg and 5.4rpg in the five games. He used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team three years ago.

   #8. Guard Marko Popovic (193-84, currently plays in Serbia) was not able to secure a victory for Sloga (1-7) in their game against Mega Vizura (7-1) in the Serbian A League. Despite his very good performance last Wednesday Popovic recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and making 11 passes. He also added and 3 steals. This season Popovic has very high stats. He averages: 18.0ppg, 3.5rpg and 8.3apg. Popovic used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team back in 2009.

International guard Ernest Bremer (194-80, agency: Higher Vision Sports, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in Turkey) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Fenerbahce Ulker (5-1) in their game against Karsiyaka (5-1) in the Turkish TBL. He scored 6 points in 25 minutes. Fenerbahce Ulker lost 66-72 on the opponent's court to the higher-ranked (#3) Karsiyaka. This year Bremer's overall stats are: 3.8ppg and 2.2apg in the six games. He is a naturalized American. Bremer used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team last year. He played also for Bosna ASA BH Telecom Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina league.

   #10. Point guard Aleksej Nesovic (189-85, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Serbia) was the major contributor in a 1-point OKK Beograd's victory against the closely-ranked Radnicki Basket (4-4) 74-73 in a derby game in the Serbian A League in Wednesday night's game. Nesovic recorded 15 points and added 5 assists in 25 minutes. OKK Beograd (4-4) is placed seventh in the A League. Nesovic has reliable stats this year: 11.4ppg, 1.7rpg and 2.9apg in the seven games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team roster.

   #11. International power forward Jozo Brkic (212-86, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Adriatic League) couldn't help KK Zadar in their game against Buducnost in the Adriatic League, despite his very good performance last Saturday. He was the top scorer with 14 points. Brkic also added 5 rebounds in a mere 16 minutes. But his team was badly defeated by 16 points 76-60. This year his total stats are: 7.3ppg and 3.7rpg in the nine games. Despite Brkic played previously for the Croatian U20 national team, he is currently in the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team roster.

   #12. International center Elmedin Kikanovic (210-88, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Russia) couldn't help Enisey Krasnoyarsk in their game against Lokomotiv in the Russian PBL. Despite his very good performance in Sunday night's game Kikanovic was the top scorer with 16 points. He has averaged so far 9.5ppg and 4.3rpg. Kikanovic is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #13. International shooting guard Ivan Opacak (201-80, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group, currently plays in VTB United League) couldn't help PGE Turow in their game against Lietuvos rytas in the VTB United League. He scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 18 minutes. His team lost 71-78. Opacak has averaged so far 5.8ppg and 2.6rpg in the five games. He is also Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player.

   #14. International forward Ante Masic (200-85, another player represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Eurocup) couldn't help Cibona in their game against ratiopharm Ulm in the Eurocup. Masic scored 8 points. His team was defeated 83-68. He has averaged so far 10.0ppg and 3.0rpg. Masic plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #15. International guard Goran Ikonic (196-80, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Ukraine) is a teammate of previously mentioned Sasa Vasiljevic and both played together in the last Ukrainian Superleague game. Ikonic contributed to Halychyna's victory against the closely-ranked Ferro-ZNTU 93-88. He scored 7 points. Ikonic has averaged so far 8.9ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.2apg. He is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.


The list of other players, who all have Bosnia and Herzegovina passport but never been selected to any of Bosnia and Herzegovina national teams:

   #1. Zoran Planinic (198-G-82, currently plays in VTB United League) led his Russian team Khimky to a victory over the ninth-ranked Kalev/Cramo (1-5) 77-67 in the VTB United League in Monday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Planinic scored 14 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 31 minutes. BC Khimky Moscow Region (5-1) is placed second in group A. Planinic belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #5 with 4.6apg. He also averaged so far 11.4ppg and 4.0rpg in the five games he played so far. Planinic has a dual citizenship: Croatian and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

   #2. Bojan Bogdanovic (203-SG-89, currently plays in Turkey) was the major contributor in a Fenerbahce Ulker's victory against the 11th-ranked Tofas (2-4) 74-66 in the Turkish TBL on Sunday night. Bogdanovic scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 35 minutes. Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul (5-1) is placed fourth in the TBL. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Bogdanovic has relatively good stats this year: 12.7ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.3apg in the six games. He is another player who holds two passports: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian.

   #3. Mirza Begic (217-C-85, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a Real Madrid's victory against the league outsider Assignia Manresa (0-8) 97-84 in the Spanish ACB last Sunday. Begic scored 8 points and blocked 2 shots in 16 minutes. Real Madrid (8-0) is placed first in the ACB. So far his team won all eight games in the Regular Season. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. This year Begic's overall stats are: 5.4ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.1bpg in the eight games. He has both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian nationalities.

   #4. Damir Markota (209-F-85, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Turkey could not help Besiktas (3-3) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Markota's very good performance Besiktas (#3) was defeated 87-72 on the road by the lower-ranked Partizan (#5) in the group D of Euroleague. He was the second best scorer with 16 points. Markota also added 6 rebounds. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Markota's first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 10.0ppg and 4.5rpg. Markota also holds two passports: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian.

   #5. Suad Sehovic (196-G/F-87, currently plays in Ukraine) helped Khimik win their game against the 11th-ranked Dnipro (4-9) crushing them 90-68 in the Ukrainian Superleague on Friday night. He scored 10 points in 17 minutes. Khimik-OPZ Yuzny (10-3) is placed second in the Superleague. This year Sehovic has relatively solid stats: 12.4ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.7apg in the 13 games. He has Montenegrin and Bosnia and Herzegovina nationalities.

   #6. Goran Suton (208-C-85, college: Michigan St., currently plays in Euroleague) helped his Croatian team Cedevita edge in a double overtime (!!!) the leader Zalgiris 108-106 in the Euroleague on Thursday night. He scored 8 points. Suton's overall stats this season are: 3.5ppg and 3.2rpg. He has Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian nationalities.

   #7. Sasha Topchov (206-C-80, currently plays in Romania) helped Oradea win their game against the 13th-ranked Timba Timosoara crushing them 83-62 in the Romanian Division A in Friday night's game. Topchov scored 15 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Topchov has reliable stats this season: 13.0ppg and 4.3rpg.

   #8. Matija Ceskovic (192-G-81, currently plays in Romania) was the main contributor in a Targu Mures' victory against the closely-ranked Craiova 94-83 in the Romanian Division A last Monday. He was the top player that evening. Ceskovic recorded 19 points and added 3 assists (made all of his six free throws) in 33 minutes. Ceskovic has reliable stats this year: 14.1ppg and 2.4apg in the eight games. He holds both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian passports.

   #9. Toni Bizaca (202-F-82, currently plays in EuroChallenge), who plays in Sweden was not able to help Sodertalje Kings (1-1) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Bizaca's good performance Sodertalje Kings (#3) was edged 64-62 in Norrkoping by the second-ranked Dolphins in the group C of EuroChallenge. He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Bizaca also added 5 rebounds. Bizaca has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 18.5ppg, 6.5rpg and 2.0apg.

   #10. Teo Simovic (205-C-84, currently plays in Hungary) helped ZTE KK win their game against the closely-ranked PVSK Pannon 77-68 in the Hungarian A Division last Friday. Simovic recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting the same number of rebounds. He also added 2 blocks. Simovic is ranked fifth on the list of the best rebounders in the league. This season he has very high stats. Simovic averages: 19.9ppg, 8.8rpg, 2.0apg and 1.4spg.

Rogaska Crystal (Liga Nova KBM) agreed terms with 28-year old Bosnian power forward Dragan Djuranovic (203-88). He has played for the last three seasons at Mladost in Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I. In 32 games he had 11.2ppg, 7.3rpg, 2.3apg, 1.3spg and 1.2bpg last season. La Gallofa Cantbasket 04 (EBA) strengthened their roster with addition of Bosnian Mihajlo Zvonar. He played last season at KK Prijedor in Bosnia and Herzegovina 1. Liga RS.
