Bosnian Basketball News and Notes!

Davor Lamesic: Bosnian native Davor Lamesic was a late bloomer but has developed into one of the best players in Austria. Davor played well this summer representing Austria in Eurobasket qualifying averaging 12.5ppg 5.5rbpg 1.5aspg and shot over 40% from three! This season for Wels he has averaged 16.4ppg 7.0rbpg 2.8aspg along with Mirza Ahmetbasic have been two of the better players on his team who have been fighting for a playoff spot. Bosnians have proven to be key players, both domestically in Austria and for their national team as Rashid Mahalbasic was the best player on the National Team this season and Ramiz Suljanovic has been a key player for his team for a number of years.

Miralem Halilovic: Has really taken a step back from what was considered a top prospect from BiH. He first suffered some injury setbacks and now rarely plays getting about 8 minutes a night in Croatian domestic league. He really should be playing a major role on a team at least on the Adriatic level for a player who is almost 22 years old. It will be interesting to see if he can come back from the two seasons of virtual inaction.

Aleksandar Radojevic: Former lottery pick in the NBA who went on to represent BiH internationally he appears to be nearing the end of his career. After a long stay in Cyprus he is playing in Macedonia as a role player averaging 6.4ppg and 4.4rbpg. It would be nice to see him end his career in BiH or even in the Adriatic League.

Dejan Todorovic: He has been mentioned as a possible member of the BiH National Teams (at least on the junior levels) but he is now playing in D3 Spain. Even though he is the best player on his team in Spain the level of competition there is not very high and more was expected out of him at this point. As an 18 year old kid it is not too late for him to turn out to be a very good player. His flaws however, ball handling, turnovers, is still evident.

Dzenan Kurtic: He was mentioned as a possible National Team member for BiH before joining the French Junior National Team. He moved to D2 France this season and has had a hard time getting onto the court. He has struggled with his outside shooting in limited minutes.

Muhamed Pasalic: Has improved his play from last season in Greece when he proved to be a surprise. He is playing at a very high level this season and if healthy should contribute to BiH efforts this summer. He has averaged 11.5ppg 2.5rbpg 2.1aspg and has averaged over 50% from two and over 40% from the three point line.

Diego Kapelan: Diego worked very hard this summer and it has paid off, proving to be one of the best three point shooters in Europe this season. Diego shot almost 40% from three in Eurochallenge this season and is averaging an amazing 54.8% from three in domestic Cyprus league. Diego should get the chance to take his game to the next level next season, if he doesnt get a position with the BiH team this summer.

Adin Vrabac
Adin Vrabac selected the top Bosnian playing abroad in last week's games - 22 hours ago
Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Bosnians who are currently playing abroad. This week's number one is an international shooting guard Adin Vrabac (204-94). He could not help Partizan (15-4) in their last game. Despite Vrabac's very good performance Partizan lost 68-74 on the road to the lower-ranked (#7) Un.Olimpija.    [read more]
Bosnian Prospects where are they now? - 2 days ago
Bosnian Prospects where are they now? Adnan Omeragic: Once a top prospect in Spain the 201cm forward is still fairly young having turned 20 in August. He has struggled with development and injuries the last few seasons and has become an afterthought for both BiH and the Spanish National Team. He's playing for Nautico KIA Tenerife this season in the Spanish EBA. His stats so far this season in 13 games are 14mpg 6.6ppg 2.2rbpg .8stls while shooting 48.9% from two, 45% from three and 72.2...   [read more]

Kevin Brown
Ylli lands Kevin Brown, ex Siroki Primorka - 2 days ago
Golden Eagle Ylli (SuperLeague) tabbed 25-year old American guard Kevin Brown (190-88kg-92, college: New Orleans). He spent his 2-year professional career in Bosnia. He started the season at Siroki Primorka in Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I. In 9 games he averaged 10.2ppg, 2.8rpg, 2.1apg and 1.3spg this season. The last season Brown played at Zrinjski (also in Division I) where in 23 games he had 9.0ppg, 2.5rpg, 1.7apg and 1.5spg. He can count that season as a very successful as was se...   [read more]
