We bring you last week's top performances from Bosnians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.


Lynetta Kizer

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Lynetta Kizer (193-90, college: Maryland, currently plays in Greece). She led Olympiacos to a victory over the tenth-ranked Panionios (3-5) 73-59 in the Greek A1 in Sunday night's game. Kizer was MVP of the game. She had a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 11 rebounds in 32 minutes on the court. Olympiacos Pireus (8-0) is placed first in the A1. So far her team won all eight games in the Regular Season. Kizer has individually a very good year with high stats. She averages: 15.7ppg, 6.8rpg, 2.0apg, 2FGP: 68.3%(41-60) and FT: 92.3% in six games she played so far. Kizer is a naturalized American. Despite she played previously for the USA university national team, Kizer is currently a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team. Strangely she has never played in Bosnia.

Sasa Cado

   #2. Second place goes to former international guard Sasa Cado (178-89, currently plays in Turkey). Cado could not help Istanbul Uni (4-3) in their last game on Sunday. Despite her very good performance Istanbul Uni was defeated 76-70 in a derby game by the second-ranked Galatasaray. Cado was the top scorer with 18 points. She also added 7 boards, dished 4 assists and stole 5 balls. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Cado has relatively good stats this year: 10.7ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.2apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 45.8%, 3FGP: 41.4% and FT: 75.0%. She has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbian. Cado played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team in 2008.

Nikolina Milic

   #3. The Bosnia and Herzegovina player who performed third best last week abroad was former U18 international center Nikolina Milic (191-94, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Belgium). She was the main contributor in a Castors Braine's victory against one of league's weakest teams Houthalen (2-9) 70-53 in the Belgian Top Division Women on Saturday night. Milic was the best player in that game. She scored 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 32 minutes. Royal Castors Braine (11-0) is placed first in the Top Division Women. So far her team won all eleven games in the Regular Season. Milic is currently seventh on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (sixth place). She has very impressive stats this year: 15.3ppg, 8.0rpg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 57.4%(66-115) and FT: 76.6% in 11 games. Milic is another player who holds two passports: Serbian and Bosnia and Herzegovina. She played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina U18 national team six years ago.

   #4. Center Aida Kalusic (187-87, currently plays in Slovenia) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Konjice (6-2) crushing them 62-35 in the Slovenian SKL in Saturday night's game. Kalusic was the top player that evening. She scored 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Triglav Vadoli Kranj (8-0) is placed first in the SKL. So far her team won all eight games in the Regular Season. This season Kalusic has relatively solid stats: 11.0ppg and 5.0rpg. She is also Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player.

International power forward Marica Gajic (187-95, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to a Girne Universitesi's surprising victory against the fifth-ranked Istanbul Uni (4-3) 87-83 in the Turkish KBSL last Saturday. Gajic was the top player that evening. She recorded 25 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 39 minutes. Girne Universitesi (2-5) is placed second from the bottom (#13) in the KBSL. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Gajic is ranked second on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best rebounders (fourth place). She has very impressive stats this year: 19.9ppg, 12.1rpg, 1.6apg and 1.1spg in seven games. Gajic has both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian nationalities. She plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #6. Guard Milica Deura (178-90, currently plays in Germany) helped TSV 1880 Wasserburg win their game against the closely-ranked ChemCats Chemnitz (10-4) crushing them 99-46 in the German DBBL on Sunday night. Deura scored 12 points. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. TSV 1880 Wasserburg (10-1) is placed first in the DBBL. It was her team's ninth consecutive victory in a row. Deura has reliable stats this season: 10.5ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.4apg. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team roster.

   #7. International center Dragana Svitlica (190-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Socinsa Bembibre (5-7) in their last game. Despite Svitlica's good performance Socinsa Bembibre was badly defeated 82-62 on the road by the second-ranked Argon Uni Girona. She was the top scorer with 14 points. Svitlica also added 4 rebounds in 31 minutes. This year Svitlica's overall stats are: 8.9ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.7apg in 12 games. She is also Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player.

   #8. Guard Teodora Trebovac (170-96, currently plays in Serbia) helped Sabac win their game against the league outsider Vojvodina (0-10) crushing them 114-73 in the Serbian 1 ZLS last Sunday. Trebovac scored 10 points, made 3 passes and 6 steals. OKK Sabac (5-5) is placed eighth in the 1 ZLS. Trebovac's total stats this season are: 4.9ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.4apg and 1.9spg. She used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina U18 national team back in 2013.

International point guard Miljana Dzombeta (169-94, currently plays in Serbia) was not able to secure a victory for Vrbas Medela (5-5) in their game against Partizan (8-2) in the Serbian 1 ZLS. Dzombeta recorded 8 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in 40 minutes. Vrbas Medela lost 65-74 in Beograd to the second-ranked Partizan. They ended the series of three consecutive victories. Dzombeta belongs to league's best passers (ranked #4) and also on the list of most steals (second place). She has very reliable stats this year: 14.1ppg, 4.2rpg, 4.7apg and 3.8spg in 10 games. Dzombeta is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #10. Guard Matea Tavic (178-92, currently plays in Romania) helped Satu Mare win their game against the league outsider Iasi (1-10) 83-76 in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Saturday night's game. She scored 17 points. CS Municipal Satu Mare (5-6) is placed sixth in the Liga Nationala. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. Tavic averaged so far 11.1ppg, 2.9rpg and 3.8apg. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team roster.

   #11. Former U18 international forward Valentina Galusic (182-96, currently plays in Central Europe Women League) couldn't help the league outsider Kvarner (0-5) in their last game. Despite her very good performance the seventh-placed Kvarner was crushed 92-49 in Wien by the higher-ranked (#4) Flying Foxes in the Group B of A2. Galusic was the top scorer with 20 points in 39 minutes. This year her total stats are: 8.6ppg, 3.9rpg, 2.7apg and 2.2spg in 10 games. Galusic used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina U18 national team two years ago.

   #12. An experienced U16 international point guard Ksenija Mitric (162-1, currently plays in MZRKL) managed to help ZKK Athlete Celje to win against one of league's weakest teams Crvena Zvezda 85-67 in the WABA last Thursday. She scored only 4 points. This season Mitric averages just 2.0ppg. She is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina U16 national team.

   #13. Former U18 international power forward Milina Miseljic (186-98, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in MZRKL) faced previously mentioned Ksenija Mitric in the WABA last game. Miseljic couldn't help Crvena Zvezda in their game against Athlete Celje. She scored 5 points. Her team was badly defeated by 18 points 85-67. Miseljic has averaged so far 4.0ppg and 2.0rpg. She used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina U18 national team three years ago.

   #14. U20 international center Sara Boric (196-96, college: N.Carolina St., currently plays in Croatia) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Sibenik (3-6) in their last game. Despite Boric's good performance Sibenik was badly defeated 64-47 at home by the higher-ranked (#8) ZKK Split. She was the second best scorer with 11 points in a mere 17 minutes. Boric has averaged so far 6.6ppg and 1.8rpg in eight games. She plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina U20 national team.

   #15. International guard Irena Vrancic (167-90, currently plays in Spain) helped Al-Qazeres win their game against one of league's weakest teams Zamarat 87-77 in the Spanish LFB on Friday night. Vrancic scored only 4 points. Vrancic has averaged so far 2.6ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.3apg. She is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.


The list of other players, who all have Bosnia and Herzegovina passport but never been selected to any of Bosnia and Herzegovina national teams:

   #1. Aleksandra Begenisic (193-C-89, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in a Maquinaria Ensino's victory against the 14th-ranked Oviedo (1-10) 82-73 in the Spanish LF2 (second division) last Sunday. Begenisic had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 13 rebounds. She also added 3 blocks in 29 minutes. Duran Maquinaria Ensino Lugo (4-7) is placed tenth in Group A. Begenisic's stats this year are: 12.0ppg, 7.3rpg and 1.8bpg in four games she played so far.

   #2. Experienced Rada Vidovic (177-G-79, currently plays in Serbia) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Vojvodina (0-10) crushing them 129-40 in the Serbian 1 ZLS on Saturday night. She recorded 6 points and added 3 passes. Spartak Subotica (7-3) is placed third in the 1 ZLS. It's Vidovic's first season with the team. Vidovic's total stats this year are: 8.6ppg, 3.9rpg, 2.7apg and 2.2spg.

   #3. Anja Perko (170-PG-0, currently plays in Croatia) could not help Pula C.Tours (4-5) in their last game. Despite Perko's good performance Pula C.Tours was crushed 92-56 at home by the leading ZKK Medvescak. She was the second best scorer with 11 points. Perko also added 5 assists in 30 minutes. Perko's stats this year are: 10.5ppg, 2.9rpg, 3.3apg and 1.1spg in eight games. She has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian. Despite Perko's Bosnia and Herzegovina passport, she currently plays for the Croatian U16 national team and is not eligible to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina team.

Goran Lojo has been named the Bosnian Women's National Team head coach. Goran Lojo has experience working with the U18 National Selection. He has worked lately with Play Off Sarajevo. Goran Lojo guided the team to the Bosnian Cup trophy back in 2017. He also guided Play Off to League titles in 2016 and 2017.   [read more]
