Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bosnia and Herzegovina players, who play currently abroad.


Ognjen Kuzmic

   #1. This week's number one is former international center Ognjen Kuzmic (213-90, currently plays in Euroleague). He contributed to a Crvena Zvezda's victory against the seventh-ranked Panathinaikos (11-9) 72-66 in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. Kuzmic had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 14 rebounds in 24 minutes on the court. Crvena Zvezda MTS Beograd (12-8) is placed fifth in group A. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. It's Kuzmic's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 10.1ppg, 8.1rpg, 1.1apg, 2FGP: 56.0%(79-141) and FT: 71.0% in 20 games he played so far. Kuzmic has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbian. He played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team five years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to U20 international swingman Aleksandar Lazic (201-96, currently plays in Serbia). Lazic led Dynamic BG to a 1-point victory over the sixth-ranked Vrsac (10-6) 77-76 in the Serbian KLS last Friday. He was MVP of the game. Lazic recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 3 assists. Dynamic BG Beograd (12-3) is placed second in the KLS. This season Lazic averages: 9.3ppg, 7.2rpg, 1.3apg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 54.0%, 3FGP: 32.4% and FT: 61.1%. He is in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina U20 national team.

   #3. The Bosnia and Herzegovina player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Elmedin Kikanovic (211-88, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in EuroCup). Kikanovic could not help ALBA Berlin (1-3) in their last game. Despite his very good performance ALBA Berlin was badly defeated 99-83 on the road by the lower-ranked (#4) Cedevita. Kikanovic was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added 5 rebounds in 23 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Eurocup Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. Kikanovic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 20.6ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 59.5%(94-158) and FT: 76.7% in 11 games. Kikanovic is also a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team.

   #4. Guard Zack Wright (191-85, college: Central Mo., currently plays in Basketball Champions League) helped his French team Monaco win their game against the fourth-ranked Aris (8-6) 80-66 in the Basketball Champions League in Wednesday night's game. He scored 10 points and added 4 passes. AS Monaco Basket (12-2) is placed first in group A. The Regular Season already ended in the Basketball Champions League. This season Wright has relatively solid stats: 10.7ppg, 3.6rpg, 3.4apg and 2.1spg. He is a naturalized American. Wright is also Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player. Strangely he has never played in Bosnia.

International center Andrija Stipanovic (209-86, also represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup) was the major contributor in a Demir IBB's victory against the third-ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (2-4) 87-77 in the FIBA Europe Cup in Wednesday night's game. Stipanovic had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 7 assists in 32 minutes. Demir Insaat Buyukcekmece Basket (5-1) is placed first in group L. There are only two games left until the end of the FIBA Europe Cup Second Stage. So now every game is very crucial. Stipanovic has reliable stats this year: 11.5ppg, 7.0rpg and 2.4apg in 12 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Croatian and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Stipanovic plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Center Markus Loncar (211-96, currently plays in Croatia) led Cedevita to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams H.Analitica (2-13) crushing them 106-85 in a derby game in the Croatian A1 last Sunday. He scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. KK Cedevita Zagreb (11-4) is placed fourth in the A1. Loncar's overall stats this season are: 6.3ppg and 3.2rpg. He is U20 international player who is currently on the Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team roster.

   #7. International power forward Kenan Karahodzic (209-96, currently plays in Basketball Champions League) was not able to help Partizan (8-6) in their last game. Despite Karahodzic's good performance the third-placed Partizan (8-6) lost 85-99 in Sassari to the lower-ranked (#5) Banco di Srd in the group E of Basketball Champions League. He scored 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season. So now every game will be important. This year Karahodzic's overall stats are: 2.9ppg and 3.0rpg in 11 games. He is also Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player.

   #8. Small forward Ivan Ramljak (203-90, currently plays in Croatia) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams KK Zadar (8-4) in their last game on Friday. Despite Ramljak's very good performance KK Zadar was defeated 64-53 in Sibenik by the higher-ranked GKK Sibenik (#3). He was the top scorer with 19 points. Ramljak also added 9 rebounds. Ramljak averaged so far 10.5ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.5apg. He used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina U18 national team back in 2005.

International shooting guard Dzanan Musa (204-99, another player represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Croatia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Markus Loncar and both played together in the last Croatian A1 game. Musa led Cedevita to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams H.Analitica (2-13) crushing them 106-85 in a derby game. He scored 12 points. Musa averaged so far 13.4ppg, 3.5rpg and 2.4apg. He is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #10. Guard Marko Josilo (200-92, currently plays in Serbia) led Metalac to a 3-point victory over the closely-ranked Konstantin (1-14) 83-80 in the Serbian KLS in Saturday night's game. Josilo was the best player in that game. He had a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 10 rebounds in 44 minutes. Metalac Farmakom Valjevo (7-8) is placed tenth in the KLS. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Josilo's stats this year are: 13.4ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3spg in seven games. Despite he played previously for the Serbian U19 national team, Josilo is also a former international player as two years ago he still played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team.

   #11. Former international point guard Aleksej Nesovic (189-85, another player represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Serbia) led OKK Beograd to a victory over the closely-ranked Sloga 76-60 in the Serbian KLS last Sunday. He was the top player that evening. Nesovic scored 20 points, had 6 boards, passed 9 assists and added 4 steals. This season Nesovic has very high stats. He averages: 15.4ppg, 4.0rpg, 4.1apg and 2.0spg. Nesovic used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team five years ago.

   #12. International forward Miralem Halilovic (205-91, currently plays in Croatia) faced previously mentioned Ivan Ramljak in the Croatian A1 last game. Halilovic helped GKK Sibenik win their game against the closely-ranked KK Zadar 64-53. He scored 9 points, had 6 rebounds, passed 6 assists and added 3 blocks in 29 minutes. Halilovic averaged so far 14.9ppg, 6.5rpg, 3.6apg, 1.6bpg and 1.2spg in 14 games. He is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #13. Former international power forward Jozo Brkic (211-86, currently plays in Croatia) helped Jolly win their game against the tenth-ranked KK Skrljevo 86-74 in the Croatian A1 last Saturday. He scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in a mere 17 minutes. This year Brkic's total stats are: 9.6ppg and 4.2rpg in 13 games. Despite he played previously for the Croatian U20 national team, Brkic is currently in the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team roster.

   #14. Former international point guard Filip Adamovic (183-88, agency: 011 Sports, currently plays in Romania) helped UBT Cluj Napoca win their game against the closely-ranked Steaua CSM 85-68 in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Sunday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and making 11 passes. Adamovic averaged so far 12.6ppg, 1.9rpg, 6.7apg and 2.0spg. He used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team back in 2014.

   #15. Former international power forward Miroslav Todic (205-85, agency: Diamond Sports, currently plays in Greece) was the main contributor in Promitheas' victory against the league outsider Doxa Lefkadas 79-73 in the Greek A1 on Saturday night. Todic was the top player that evening. He scored 20 points in 25 minutes. Todic averaged so far 11.7ppg and 5.5rpg in six games. He used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team two years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Bosnia and Herzegovina passport but never been selected to any of Bosnia and Herzegovina national teams:

   #1. Aleksandar Todorovic (206-C/F-87, currently plays in Serbia) led Borac to a victory over the ninth-ranked Beovuk 72 (7-8) crushing them 87-62 in the Serbian KLS last Saturday. Todorovic was the best player in that game. He had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 11 rebounds. Todorovic also added 4 assists (went 5 for 5 at the free throw line) in 34 minutes. KK Borac Mozzart Cacak (10-5) is placed third in the KLS. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. Todorovic has reliable stats this year: 12.9ppg and 6.3rpg in 15 games he played so far.

   #2. Experienced Dejan Cup (202-PF-83, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Slovenia) was the main contributor in an overtime Hopsi Polzela's victory against the league outsider LTH Castings (1-15) 83-74 in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM on Friday night. He was the best player in that game. Cup recorded 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Hopsi Polzela (10-5) is placed fifth in the Liga Nova KBM. Cup has reliable stats this season: 14.4ppg, 5.4rpg, 2.3apg and 1.4spg. He has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

   #3. Ramo Rizvic (200-F-87, currently plays in Slovenia) could not help Zlatorog (13-4) in their last game. Despite Rizvic's very good performance the league leader Zlatorog lost 86-90 at home to the lower-ranked (#3) Un.Olimpija. He had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 11 rebounds (made all of his five free throws) in 32 minutes. Rizvic's stats this year are: 13.8ppg, 5.6rpg and 2.5apg in 17 games.

   #4. Boris Barac (205-F-92, currently plays in ABA League) was not able to help KK Zadar (6-14) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Barac's good performance the bottom-ranked KK Zadar was badly defeated 92-75 on the road by the higher-ranked Mega Leks (#12). He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Barac also added 6 rebounds. Barac averaged so far 14.2ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.7apg.

   #5. Bojan Sarcevic (190-G-88, currently plays in Finland) contributed to a Kauhajoen Karhu's victory against the closely-ranked Joensuun Kataja (14-7) 99-87 in the Finnish Korisliiga on Saturday night. He recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and making 12 passes. Sarcevic also added 6 rebounds and 3 steals (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line). It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Karhu Kauhajoki (14-10) is placed fourth in the Korisliiga. Sarcevic is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Kauhajoen Karhu's roster. He averaged so far 11.2ppg, 3.2rpg, 5.9apg and 1.6spg.

   #6. Goran Suton (208-C-85, college: Michigan St., currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in a Movil Estudiantes' victory against the tenth-ranked RETAbet BB 87-83 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. Suton scored 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 27 minutes. He has averaged so far 7.2ppg and 5.1rpg in 18 games. Suton is another player who holds two passports: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian.

   #7. Mirza Begic (216-C-85, currently plays in ABA League) was not able to secure a victory for Cedevita in their game against Krka in the ABA League. Begic recorded 8 points. His team was defeated 90-86. He has averaged so far 5.8ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.2bpg. Begic has both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian nationalities.

   #8. Robert Rothbart (217-C-86, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Israel) helped Hapoel Eilat win their game against the league outsider Maccabi K/G crushing them 96-74 in the Israeli Winner League last Monday. He recorded 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes. Rothbart has averaged so far 7.7ppg and 4.4rpg in 15 games. He also holds two passports: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Israeli.

   #9. Nedim Muslic (197-F-99, currently plays in Qatar) helped Al Gharafa win their game against the 11th-ranked Al Wakrah 98-91 in the Qatari D1 in Sunday night's game. Muslic scored 7 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 32 minutes. He has averaged so far 6.6ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.5apg and 1.2spg in 12 games. Muslic has dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatari.

   #10. Simo Atanackovic (206-F-90, currently plays in Basketball Champions League) couldn't help Helios (2-12) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his good performance Helios (#7) was defeated 67-57 on their home court in Domzale by the higher-ranked CEZ Nymburk (#3) in the group A of Basketball Champions League. Atanackovic was the second best scorer with 12 points. He also added 6 rebounds. Atanackovic has averaged so far 7.3ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.1apg. He holds both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian passports. Despite Atanackovic's Bosnia and Herzegovina nationality, he previously played for the Slovenian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina team.

C.B. Tarragona 2017 (EBA) agreed terms with 25-year old Bosnian swingman Mihajlo Zvonar (195-92) from Cantbasket. In 24 EBA games in Spain he had 8.0ppg, 2.5rpg, 1.7apg and 1.4spg last season. Quesos Cerrato de Palencia (LEB Gold) landed 18-year old Bosnian guard Sani Campara (190-99). He played most recently at Real Madrid II in the EBA. In 16 games he averaged 6.8ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.4apg last season. Campara received Eurobasket.com All-European Championships U18 1st Team award in 2017. The previous (15-16) season Campara played at Spars Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I where in 19 games he had 3.6ppg. Bosnians in High School 2017-18! Some of the Bosnians playing in High School in the US include some interesting names and quality prospects. Erwin Gutic: Eurohopes wrote a glowing article on Gutic three years ago when he was playing in an international tournament for the youth team OKK Spars. He has great size 207cm and is skilled.
