Emir Zimic
Experienced Emir Zimic (218-C-86) had a great game in the last round for Kakanj and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 30-year old center had a double-double of 18 points and sixteen rebounds, while his team beat Zrinjski HT (#2, 9-4) 87-75. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Kakanj maintains the 3rd position in Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kakanj will need more victories to improve their 8-5 record. Zimic just recently signed at Kakanj and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Emir Zimic averages just after two games 10.0ppg and 8.5rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 32-year old Croatian center Franko Kastropil (212-C-84) of Siroki Primorka. Kastropil impressed basketball fans with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led Siroki Primorka to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Mladost (#8, 5-9) 100-77. This victory allowed Siroki Primorka to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-8 record. Kastropil is one of the most experienced players at Siroki Primorka and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.0ppg (#7). He also registered 10.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was former international forward Mujo Tuljkovic (202-F-79, agency: BeoBasket) of Bosnjak (#10). Tuljkovic scored 27 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Tuljkovic's great performance Bosnjak lost 76-91 to the higher-ranked Spars Sarajevo (#5, 8-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Bosnjak can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 4-10 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Tuljkovic he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Tuljkovic has individually a great season in Bosnia. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 6.6rpg (9th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Devonte Brown (188-G-92) of Sloboda Tuzla - 14 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Ibrahim Durmo (201-F/C-97) of Spars Sarajevo - 21 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Ivan Karacic (202-C-96) of Siroki Primorka - 19 points and 12 rebounds
7. Vladimir Aleksic (198-F/G-87) of Leotar - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Maksim Kovacevic (196-G/F-87) of Spars Sarajevo - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Zlatko Jovanovic (181-PG-84) of Spars Sarajevo - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists
10. Bojan Pelkic (204-F-83) of Leotar - 13 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
