The most exciting game of round 17 in the Division I took place in Sarajevo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Zrinjski HT (10-6) to first ranked Bosna-Royal (13-3) 74-71 on Saturday evening. Bosna-Royal forced 20 Zrinjski HT turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Sasa Vasiljevic (183-79, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Vladimir Djordjevic (201) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Torrion Brummitt (201, college: W.Carolina) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Zrinjski HT's coach Hrvoje Vlasic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bosna-Royal have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Bosna-Royal maintains first place with 13-3 record. Zrinjski HT at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Bosna-Royal are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Mladost (#10) in Mrkonjic Grad in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zrinjski HT will play at home against Gradjanski (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
The game in Bijeljina was also worth to mention about. 7th ranked Siroki Primorka (6-11) played at the court of eighth ranked Gradjanski (6-10). Gradjanski managed to secure a 5-point victory 76-71. Serbian swingman Danilo Negovanovic (194-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Dragomir Marojevic contributed with 12 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Slovenian point guard Jan Mocnik (178-87) answered with 17 points and 4 steals for Siroki Primorka. Gradjanski moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Leotar. Siroki Primorka lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Bosnjak. Gradjanski will play against higher ranked Zrinjski HT (#4) in Mostar in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Siroki Primorka will play at home against Leotar (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Spars Sarajevo will meet Kakanj (#5) on the road in the next round. Mladost will play against the league's leader Bosna-Royal (#1) and hope to secure a win.

Leotar - Bosnjak 70-81

We should mention about the upset which took place in Trebinje, where 6th ranked Leotar (6-10) lost at home to ninth ranked Bosnjak (6-11) 70-81. Point guard Adi Sarajlic (180-93) nailed 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and the former international forward Mujo Tuljkovic (202-79, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 19 points and 5 steals. Five Bosnjak players scored in double figures. Montenegrin forward Bojan Pelkic (204-83) came up with 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and Milan Luzajic added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for Leotar in the defeat. Bosnjak moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Siroki Primorka. Leotar at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. The game with biggest result difference took place in Tuzla. Local Sloboda Tuzla (11-6) outscored 5th ranked Kakanj (9-8) 82-62 on Saturday night. Strangely Kakanj outrebounded Sloboda Tuzla 36-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. Kakanj was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international Almir Hasandic (191-90) who scored 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Enes Latifagic (200-92, agency: BeoExcell) chipped in 13 points. Croatian swingman Zeljko Palavra (194-82) produced 16 points and swingman Dejan Sakotic (195-93) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests.
