Hasandic
Shooting guard Almir Hasandic (191-SG-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for Sloboda Tuzla and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 26-year old shooting guard had the game-high 27 points adding five rebounds and four assists for Sloboda Tuzla in his team's victory, helping them to crush Kakanj (#5, 9-8) with 20-point margin 82-62. Sloboda Tuzla is placed at 3rd position in Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sloboda Tuzla will need more victories to improve their 11-6 record. In the team's last game Hasandic had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He has many years of experience at Sloboda Tuzla, through which he has constantly improved. Hasandic has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 17.2ppg) and averages solid 52.7% FGP and 42.3% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old Serbian swingman Danilo Negovanovic (194-F/G-88) of Gradjanski. Negovanovic impressed basketball fans with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. It was enough for Gradjanski to edge slightly lower-ranked Siroki Primorka (#8, 6-11) by 5 points 76-71. This victory allowed Gradjanski to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-10 record. Negovanovic is a newcomer at Gradjanski and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.9ppg (#5). He also registered 4.4 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Arsenije Vuckovic (204-F-98) of Mladost (#10). Vuckovic scored 19 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Vuckovic's great performance Mladost lost 74-76 to the higher-ranked Spars Sarajevo (#2, 11-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Mladost can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-12 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Vuckovic he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Vuckovic has a very solid season. In 7 games in Bosnia he scored 7.4ppg. He also has 5.4rpg and FGP: 55.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Sasa Vasiljevic (183-PG-79) of Bosna-Royal - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Bojan Pelkic (204-F-83) of Leotar - 22 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Adi Sarajlic (180-PG-93) of Bosnjak - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Refik Basic (213-C-95) of Spars Sarajevo - 16 points and 8 rebounds
8. Bojan Lulic (196-SF-95) of Bosnjak - 14 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Vladimir Djordjevic (201-SF) of Bosna-Royal - 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Bojan Stanojevic (203-C-88) of Mladost - 19 points and 3 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Bosnians in High School 2017-18! - 2 days ago
Bosnians in High School 2017-18! Some of the Bosnians playing in High School in the US include some interesting names and quality prospects. Erwin Gutic: Eurohopes wrote a glowing article on Gutic three years ago when he was playing in an international tournament for the youth team OKK Spars. He has great size 207cm and is skilled. He will be playing in Melbourne Florida this fall and should put together a good season and be on the radar of international scouts. Mirza Mesic: the 2000...   [read more]
