Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bosnia and Herzegovina players, who play currently abroad.


Aida Kalusic

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Aida Kalusic (189-87, currently plays in Slovenia). She led Triglav to a victory over the eighth-ranked Konjice (9-10) crushing them 76-41 in the Slovenian SKL in Tuesday night's game. Kalusic was MVP of the game. She scored 24 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 25 minutes on the court. Triglav Vadoli Kranj (12-1) is placed second in Places 1-6 group. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. Kalusic has relatively good stats this year: 15.0ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.9apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 57.4%(78-136), 3FGP: 26.7% and FT: 85.7% in 12 games she played so far. She is currently a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Lynetta Kizer (193-90, college: Maryland, currently plays in Greece). Kizer contributed to an easy victory against the league leader Panionios (20-2) crushing them 111-53 in the Greek A1 last Sunday. She scored 14 points. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Olympiacos Pireus (19-0) is placed first in the A1. So far her team won all nineteen games in the Regular Season. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Kizer's first season with the team. Kizer has individually a very good year with high stats. She averages: 16.2ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 65.1%(125-192) and FT: 78.8%. Kizer is a naturalized American. Despite she played previously for the USA university national team, Kizer is currently a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team. Strangely she has never played in Bosnia.

   #3. The Bosnia and Herzegovina player who performed third best last week abroad was former U16 international center Dragana Stankovic (195-95, currently plays in Turkey). Stankovic contributed to a 3-point Hatay's victory against the closely-ranked Adana ASKI (10-12) 67-64 in the Turkish KBSL in Monday night's game. She scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Hatay Bsb (11-9) is placed seventh in the KBSL. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Stankovic's overall stats this season are: 7.3ppg, 4.4rpg, 2FGP: 49.2% and FT: 85.7%. She has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Former Sloboda Novi Grad starter played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina U16 national team eight years ago.

Guard Milica Deura (178-90, currently plays in Germany) was the major contributor in a TSV 1880 Wasserburg's victory against the eighth-ranked ChemCats Chemnitz (8-14) crushing them 87-62 in the German DBBL last Saturday. Deura recorded 11 points in 23 minutes. TSV 1880 Wasserburg (20-2) is placed first in the DBBL. It was her team's ninth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. This year Deura's overall stats are: 10.0ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.7apg in 22 games. She is also Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player.

   #5. International guard Nikolina Babic (177-95, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in WABA) could not help one of league's weakest teams Buducnost (10-4) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Babic's good performance Buducnost was edged 66-64 on the road by the second-ranked Beroe. She recorded 12 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Babic's total stats this season are: 9.7ppg, 3.1rpg, 2.8apg and 1.9spg. She plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #6. Power forward Milina Miseljic (186-98, also represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in WABA) contributed to a Crvena Zvezda's victory against the league outsider Partizan (2-12) 76-70 in a derby game in the WABA in Wednesday night's game. Miseljic scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 16 minutes. Crvena Zvezda Beograd (6-8) is placed fifth in the WABA. The Second Stage already ended in the WABA. This year Miseljic's total stats are: 4.2ppg and 3.5rpg in 15 games. She is a former U18 international player as she played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina team four years ago.

Former international power forward Anja Stupar (180-89, currently plays in Germany) helped Rhein Main Baskets win their game against the third-ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (13-7) 50-47 in the German 2.Bundesliga (second division) last Sunday. Stupar recorded 8 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. Rhein Main Baskets (12-8) is placed fifth in South group. The Regular Season already ended. This season Stupar has relatively solid stats: 11.1ppg, 8.4rpg, 2.2apg and 2.3spg. She used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team six years ago.

   #8. Center Dragana Svitlica (190-88, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Socinsa Bembibre in their game against Campus Promete (12-12) in the Spanish LFB. Svitlica scored only 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 20 minutes. Socinsa Bembibre lost 66-74 in Logrono to the higher-ranked (#7) Campus Promete. It was Socinsa Bembibre's fourth consecutive loss in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. Svitlica has averaged so far 9.2ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.3apg in 24 games. She plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

International power forward Marica Gajic (187-95, currently plays in Turkey) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams Girne Universitesi (5-16) in their game against Samsun (7-16) in the Turkish KBSL. Gajic scored 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Girne Universitesi was defeated 73-65 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Samsun (#11). It was Girne Universitesi's third consecutive loss in a row. Gajic has reliable stats this season: 14.6ppg, 10.5rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1spg. She is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Skrijelj had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 11 rebounds. She also added 3 assists, 2 blocks and 4 steals in 38 minutes. Amicale Steinsel (18-2) is placed first in Places 1-6 group. It was her team's 11th consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Second Stage. Skrijelj has averaged so far 9.6ppg, 7.3rpg, 3.0apg and 1.5spg in 19 games. She is a former U18 international player as four years ago she still played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #11. International guard Irena Vrancic (167-90, currently plays in Spain) managed to help CB Al-Qazeres Extremadura to win against the closely-ranked Gran Canaria 68-66 in the Spanish LFB on Friday night. Vrancic scored only 2 points. Vrancic has averaged so far 2.7ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.3apg. She plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #12. U20 international center Sara Boric (196-96, college: N.Carolina St., currently plays in Croatia) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams one of league's weakest teams Sibenik in their game against ZKK Split in the Croatian A1. Boric cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. She scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 18 minutes. Her team lost 65-69. Boric has averaged so far 6.4ppg and 1.8rpg in 17 games. She is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina U20 national team.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Bosnia and Herzegovina passport:

   #1. Experienced Anja Perko (170-PG-0, currently plays in Croatia) could not help Pula C.Tours (10-9) in their last game. Despite Perko's very good performance Pula C.Tours lost 61-66 at home to the higher-ranked (#3) Ragusa. She was the top scorer with 21 points. Perko also added 9 passes in 31 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Perko's overall stats are: 10.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 4.0apg in 18 games she played so far. She has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian. Despite Perko's Bosnia and Herzegovina passport, she currently plays for the Croatian U16 national team and is not eligible to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina team.

Goran Lojo has been named the Bosnian Women's National Team head coach. Goran Lojo has experience working with the U18 National Selection. He has worked lately with Play Off Sarajevo. Goran Lojo guided the team to the Bosnian Cup trophy back in 2017. He also guided Play Off to League titles in 2016 and 2017.   [read more]
