Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bosnia and Herzegovina players, who play currently abroad.


Zack Wright

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Zack Wright (191-85, college: Central Mo., currently plays in France). He was the major contributor in Monaco's victory against the ninth-ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (14-14) 92-88 in the French ProA in Sunday night's game. Wright scored 20 points, grabbed 6 boards, handed out 4 passes and blocked 2 shots in 29 minutes on the court. AS Monaco Basket (25-3) is placed first in the ProA. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. It's Wright's first season with the team. This year he averages: 8.6ppg, 3.2rpg, 3.9apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 49.6%, 3FGP: 36.4% and FT: 75.4% in 25 games he played so far. Wright is a naturalized American. He is currently a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team. Strangely Wright has never played in Bosnia.

   #2. Second place goes to an international small forward Nihad Djedovic (196-90, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Germany). He led Bayern Muenchen to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams SC Rasta Vechta (2-27) crushing them 101-57 in the German BBL last Sunday. Djedovic recorded 17 points. FC Bayern Muenchen (26-3) is placed third in the BBL. It was his team's 16th consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Djedovic is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Bayern Muenchen's roster. His overall stats this season are: 9.6ppg, 2.2rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 58.3%(60-103), 3FGP: 45.2%(28-62) and FT: 83.1%. Djedovic has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and German. He is in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team.

   #3. The Bosnia and Herzegovina player who performed third best last week abroad was former international center Ognjen Kuzmic (213-90, currently plays in ABA League). Kuzmic led his Serbian team Crvena Zvezda to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Cedevita (20-6) 81-66 in the ABA League on Monday night. He recorded 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 23 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Crvena Zvezda MTS Beograd (25-1) is placed first in the ABA League. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This year Kuzmic's overall stats are: 9.7ppg, 5.5rpg, 2FGP: 66.3%(116-175) and FT: 69.9% in 30 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbian. Kuzmic played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team five years ago.

International swingman Nikola Gajic (195-91, college: SF Austin, currently plays in Slovenia) led KK Primorska to a victory over the fifth-ranked LTH Castings (4-12) crushing them 87-47 in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Gajic scored 22 points and grabbed 4 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Sixt Primorska (13-3) is placed first in Places 7-12 group. Gajic has relatively good stats this season: 10.6ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.6apg and 1.4spg. He plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Point guard Filip Adamovic (183-88, agency: 011 Sports, currently plays in Romania) contributed to an easy victory against the second-ranked Craiova (8-16) crushing them 104-78 in the Romanian Liga Nationala on Wednesday night. Adamovic scored 17 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 25 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-6. U-Banca Transilvania Cluj Napoca (24-4) is placed first in Places 1-6 group. This year Adamovic has relatively solid stats: 12.5ppg, 2.3rpg, 6.1apg and 2.1spg in 26 games. He is a former international player as he played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior team three years ago.

   #7. International shooting guard Dzanan Musa (204-99, also represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in ABA League) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Cedevita in their game against Crvena Zvezda (25-1) in the ABA League. He scored 6 points. Cedevita was badly defeated 77-61 on their home court in Zagreb by the leading Crvena Zvezda. Musa has averaged so far 6.3ppg and 1.7rpg. He is also Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player.

   #8. Swingman Aleksandar Lazic (201-96, currently plays in Serbia) contributed to a Dynamic BG's victory against the closely-ranked Beovuk 72 (14-12) 99-93 in a derby game in the Serbian KLS last Wednesday. He scored 7 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 20 minutes. Dynamic BG Beograd (20-6) is placed third in the KLS. The Regular Season already ended. Lazic has averaged so far 9.1ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.2apg and 1.3spg in 23 games. He plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina U20 national team.

International point guard Alex Renfroe (191-86, another player represented by BeoBasket, college: Belmont, currently plays in Spain) managed to help FC Barcelona Lassa to win against the 15th-ranked Zaragoza (9-19) 91-88 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. Renfroe recorded 5 points. FC Barcelona Lassa (18-9) is placed fifth in the Liga Endesa. Renfroe has averaged so far 5.1ppg, 2.1rpg and 1.8apg. He is a naturalized American. Renfroe is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. Apparently he has never played in Bosnia.

   #10. Power forward Jozo Brkic (211-86, currently plays in Croatia) helped Jolly win their game against the closely-ranked KK Split (20-4) crushing them 98-62 in the Croatian A1 last Sunday. Brkic scored 6 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 26 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Jolly Jadranska Banka Sibenik (18-6) is placed third in the A1. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. Brkic has averaged so far 9.6ppg and 4.7rpg in 22 games. Despite he played previously for the Croatian U20 national team, Brkic is also a former international player as five years ago he still played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team.

   #11. Former U20 international small forward Mirza Bulic (207-92, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Magia Huesca (10-22) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Magia Huesca was defeated 86-78 on the road by the much higher-ranked Burgos (#3). Bulic was the second best scorer with 20 points. He also added 8 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Bulic has averaged so far 9.6ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.3apg. He used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina U20 national team six years ago.

   #12. International center Elmedin Kikanovic (211-88, another player represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help ALBA Berlin in their game against Brose Baskets in the German BBL. Kikanovic recorded 5 points. His team was badly defeated by 17 points 88-71. Kikanovic has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 16.3ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.5apg. Kikanovic is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #13. Former U18 international forward Dejan Jeftic (197-89, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Sweden) helped Norrkoping Dolphins win their game against the closely-ranked Sodertalje Kings 80-74 in the Swedish Basketligan on Thursday night. He recorded 14 points in 28 minutes. Jeftic has reliable stats this year: 11.8ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.1apg in 36 games. He used to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina U18 national team ten years ago.

   #14. International center Andrija Stipanovic (209-86, another player represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Turkey) couldn't help Demir IBB in their game against Istanbul BBSK in the Turkish BSL. Stipanovic scored only 4 points and added 3 passes. His team was defeated 86-79. Stipanovic has averaged so far 9.8ppg, 5.1rpg and 2.0apg. He plays currently for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

   #15. International forward Mirza Teletovic (206-85, another player represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in NBA) couldn't help the Milwaukee Bucks in their game against the Boston Celtics in the NBA. Teletovic scored 7 points in 28 minutes. His team were badly defeated by 18 points 112-94 in the NBA. Teletovic has averaged so far 6.4ppg and 2.3rpg in 71 games. He is also in the roster of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.


The list of other players, who all have Bosnia and Herzegovina passport but never been selected to any of Bosnia and Herzegovina national teams:

   #1. Ramo Rizvic (200-F-87, currently plays in Slovenia) could not help Zlatorog (3-3) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance the fourth-placed Zlatorog (3-3) was edged in a double overtime (!!!) 77-75 on the road by the second-ranked Rogaska in the Places 1-6 group. Rizvic was the top scorer with 23 points. He also added 6 rebounds. There are only four games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. Rizvic has relatively good stats this season: 12.6ppg, 5.7rpg and 2.3apg.

   #2. Dragan Djuranovic (203-C/F-88, currently plays in Slovenia) faced previously mentioned Ramo Rizvic in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM last game. Djuranovic led Rogaska to a double overtime (!!!) victory against the fourth-ranked Zlatorog (3-3) 77-75. He scored 12 points, had 8 rebounds and made 4 blocks in 28 minutes. There are only four games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game is very crucial. This year Djuranovic has relatively solid stats: 10.7ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.4apg, 1.2bpg and 1.2spg in 26 games he played so far.

   #3. Goran Suton (208-C-85, college: Michigan St., currently plays in Spain) led Movil Estudiantes to a victory against the league outsider La ICL Manresa (4-23) 95-90 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 10 rebounds. Movistar Estudiantesis placed second in the Liga Endesa. Suton has averaged so far 8.1ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.1apg. He has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian.

   #4. Dragan Bender (213-PF-97, currently plays in NBA) contributed to a Phoenix Suns' victory against the Dallas Mavericks (33-49) 124-111 in the NBA in Sunday night's game. Bender scored 9 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists. The Phoenix Suns have rather weak 24-58 record this season. The Regular Season already ended in the NBA. Bender has averaged so far 3.4ppg and 2.4rpg. He is another player who holds two passports: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian.

   #5. Experienced Mile Ilic (215-C-84, currently plays in Lebanon) led Tadamon to a victory over the fourth-ranked Champville (9-15) 86-81 in the Lebanese Pepsi LBL last Thursday. Ilic was the best player in that game. He scored 21 points, had 8 rebounds and made 3 blocks (went 5 for 5 at the free throw line) in 38 minutes. Tadamon Zouk (10-14) is placed third in Group B. There are only three games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be important. Ilic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 20.8ppg, 11.6rpg, 3.0apg and 1.8bpg in five games. Ilic has both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbian nationalities.

   #6. Dino Pita (195-G-88, currently plays in Poland) was not able to help Krosno (15-15) in their last game. Despite Pita's very good performance Krosno lost 74-79 at home to the higher-ranked (#6) MKS Dabrowa Gornicza. He was the top scorer with 17 points. Pita also added 3 passes in 30 minutes. Pita has reliable stats this year: 10.2ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.9apg in 16 games. He also holds two passports: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Swedish.

   #7. Sead Hadzifejzovic (202-F/C-89, currently plays in Slovenia) was the main contributor in a Sencur Gorenjska gradbena druzba Kranj's victory against the sixth-ranked Portoroz crushing them 101-67 in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM last Saturday. Hadzifejzovic was the best player in that game. He scored 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Hadzifejzovic has reliable stats this season: 12.1ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.1spg.

   #8. Simo Atanackovic (206-F-90, currently plays in Slovenia) was not able to secure a victory for the league outsider Helios in their game against Krka in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM. He scored 9 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 25 minutes. His team was crushed by 24 points 89-65. Atanackovic has reliable stats this year: 11.6ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.1spg in 28 games. He has Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian nationalities. Despite Atanackovic's Bosnia and Herzegovina passport, he previously played for the Slovenian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina team.

   #9. Vedran Borovcanin (200-G/F-85, currently plays in Denmark) helped Horsens IC win their game against the sixth-ranked SISU 74-61 in the Danish Ligaen in Thursday night's game. Borovcanin was the best player in that game. He scored 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Borovcanin has reliable stats this season: 12.0ppg, 5.1rpg, 3.2apg and 2.0spg.

   #10. Mirza Begic (216-C-85, currently plays in ABA League) couldn't help the league outsider one of league's weakest teams Cedevita in their game against Crvena Zvezda in the ABA League. Begic scored 6 points. His team was defeated 84-73. Begic has averaged so far 5.2ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.1bpg. He has Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian nationalities.

Club Trujillo (LNB) inked 27-year old American swingman Quinton McDuffie (197-104kg-90, college: Chowan). He played most recently at Gorazde in Bosnia and Herzegovina D2 league. The last season McDuffie played at Parque Sur in Argentinian TFB where in 14 games he averaged 8.0ppg and 3.5rpg. His college team won ODAC Tournament in 2009. McDuffie is a very experienced player. Vogosca celebrate A1 Liga FBIH title beating Gradina 82-80. Vogosca won the Finals 2-0 as earlier they posted a 84-71 win. Dinko Peljto(187-PG-87) stepped up with 23 points, while Fazlic had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Earlier three teams finished with the same 16-4 records on top of Regular Season. Igman finished fourth with 13-7 record and Turbina fifth with 9-11.   [read more]
