TOP 10 BEST IN EUROPE FROM BOSNIA

It's hard to come up with a top 10 list like this. I looked at individual success, team success and the all-around kind of impact the player had on his team's season.

1. Ognjen Kuzmic: Red Star Belgrade had a resurgent season and Kuzmic was the best player on the team on the season. He doesn't put up huge numbers but arguably is the best center in Europe and is likely to get great offers from NBA teams this summer. The team had a massive schedule commitment and having a deep roster was key to an eventful performance for the team on the season. Kuzmic's ability to impact a game without having the ball in his hands, or have plays run for him allows teammates to get extra touches, it opens up the offense and his ability to rebound the ball on offense gives his team additional possessions. He is also an excellent help defender and held the defense together for the club throughout the season. The team went 25-1 in the ABA league 13-1 in the Serbian League and 16-14 in the Euroleague.

2. Elemedin Kikanovic: Kikanovic had an outstanding season right up to the point that Bayern Munich knocked them out of the playoffs. Personally he had the best season of his career and clearly became the undisputed leader of Alba Berlin who has been a competitive team in one of the best leagues in Europe. The team went 18-14 in the regular season in Germany but struggled in the Eurocup going 4-4 in the first round but then in the knockout stage struggled going 1-5. In the quarter finals they went 1-3 before bowing out to Bayern Munich. Kikanovic has really found his comfort zone with Alba and has hit his stride at the age of 28. Kikanovic put up huge numbers in Eurocup in 13 games he averaged 27mpg 19.6ppg 3.8rbpg 1aspg while shooting 58.4% and 78.8% from the FT line. In 36 German League games he averaged 15.5ppg 4.5rbpg 1.5aspg while shooting 56.1% from two and 78.1% from the FT line. He is the consummate professional as a basketball player and is a quite leader on and off the court.

3. Nihad Djedovic: Djedovic was mostly a bench player for Bayern who never earned the trust of big minutes under new coach Sasa Djordjevic the Serbian legend. He did stay healthy during the season and contributed to the team going 28-4 in the German League and 12-2 in the Eurocup regular season before getting knocked out the playoffs by Unicaja. In the German League the team beat Alba Berlin 3-1 before getting swept by eventual champions Brose Baskets. They went a combined 32-8 in Germany and 13-4 in Eurocup competitions this year. Djedovic played in 16 games in Eurocup averaging 12mpg 5.5ppg 2.6rbpg 1aspg while shooting 56.1% from two. In the German league he was much more effective in 39 games he averaged 16mpg 9.9ppg 2.4rbpg 1.5aspg while shooting 57.3% from two, 44.6% three and 82% from the FT line.

4. Zach Wright: Zach led Monaco to a great season in France as well as in the Champions League. Monaco went 16-4 in the CL during the season. He led the team to the semifinal game against runner up Banvit. The team won the third place game against Umana VE 91-77. Wright was the best player in the game with 11pts 8ass 4rbs 4stls in 22 minutes. In France the team went 31-6 on the season and made it all the way to the quarter finals before losing to ASVEL 2-1 in the series. The team rushed out to a 28-3 start to the season before going 3-3 down the stretch. The team was an offensive juggernaut in France and was first in scoring, third in rebounding, fourth in assists and played solid defense ranking fourth in the league in points allowed. In 20 CL games he averaged 23mpg 11ppg 3.7rbpg 4aspg 2.2stls while shooting 43.2% from two and 73.4% from the FT line. In the French League he was even better 34 games he averaged 21mpg 8.4ppg 3.2rbpg 3.9aspg 1.1stls and averaged 48.6% from two, 35.6% from three and 73% from the FT line.

5. Rasid Mahalbasic: Sevilla had a tough season in the first division of Spain going 9-23. That result shouldn't overshadow an excellent year Rasid had playing in one of the best leagues in Europe. The team had a heavy former Yugoslav composition, counting seven players who origins were a part of the one-time country in the Balkans. Mahalbasic acquitted himself well with his club in Spain playing in 22 games averaging 10.1ppg 6.6rbpg 1.8aspg while shooting 57.5% from two and 71.2% from the FT line.

6. Miralem Halilovic: Halilovic had an amazing season for his club GKK Sibenik in Croatia. During the regular season the team went 21-5 sweeping KK Zagreb before getting swept themselves in the next round by Cibona. In 29 games he averaged 14.8ppg 7.5rbpg 3.5aspg 1.3stls 1.3blks while shooting 63.7% from two while shooting only 55.7% from the FT line.

7. Diego Kapelan/Nemanja Mitrovic: The team went 19-19 in the season and team went 1-3 in the Quarter finals winning the first game before losing the next three to Oviedo. In the win to open the series Kapelan scored15pts on 6-12fgs while Mitrovic scored 19pts with 5rbs 4ass going 7-10 from the field 4-4 from the FT line. The lethal combo provided great games, highlights and elite outside shooting for the team. Kapelan played in 38 games averaging 12ppg 2.2rbpg 1.3aspg while shooting 47.1% from two, 41.7% from three and 73.5% from the FT line. Mitrovic played in 37 games averaging 11.8ppg 3rbpg 1aspg while shooting 53% from two, 39.9% from three and 84% from the FT line. The combo shot a combined 170-415 shooting over 40% from three combined.

8. Kenan Bajramovic: Kenan started out the season playing in Bosnia with Spars Sarajevo before moving onto Turkey. The team went 29-10 on the season and played well until bowing out in the Quarter Finals 3-2 against Acibadem. Kenan was instrumental in his team's success during the season. He played in 29 games in the TBL league and put up impressive numbers averaging 15.3ppg 7.8rbpg 2.8aspg while shooting 65.5% from two, 38.8% from three and 81.1% from the FT line. For Spars he 2 games averaging 16ppg 7.5rbpg.

9. Fahro Alihodzic: Fahro played brilliantly for Panionios and he was the best player on his club night in and night out. His team went 26-4 and was 15-0 at home on the season. He played in 29 games averaging 24mpg 12.9ppg 6.6rbpg .7stls .7blks while 60.7% from two and 68.1% from the FT line.

10. Davor Lamesic: Davor has quietly been one of the best players in Austria for many years. He has been under the radar of many European basketball fans. He hasn't gone unnoticed in Austria however; year in and year out he has been a force to reckon with. He is entering the twilight of his career at the age of 33 but has shown no signs of slowing down so far. His team only went 20-20 in Austria, beating Vienna in the first round of the playoffs 2-1 before losing in 3-2 in the series against Oberwart. Lamesic played in 37 games and averaged 17.2ppg 7.8rbpg 2.9aspg while shooting 52.1% from two and 76.6% from the FY line.

Honorable Mention: Andrija Stipanovic, Nikola Gajic, Mirza Bulic, Adin Vrabac, Dzanan Musa, Drasko Knezevic, Ismet Sefic, Imran Polutak, Nemanja Gordic, Milan Milosevic, Filip Adamovic,
