Naturalized French Vasil Evtimov (207-C/F-77, agency: Interperformances) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Levski Sofia, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds, while his team crushed Spartak Pleven (#7, 3-15) with 22-point margin 96-74. Levski Sofia maintains the 2nd position in French NBL. They are still close to the very top. Levski Sofia would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 15-3 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Evtimov as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Former University of North Carolina star has very solid stats this year. Evtimov leads league in rebounds with 11.1rpg. Evtimov is in league's top in and averages impressive 55.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 31-year old Croatian Bruno Sundov (221-C-80, agency: Alti Sport) of league's leader Lukoil Academik. Sundov had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Lukoil Academik cruised to a 96-89 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Cherno More (#5, 9-9). Of course Lukoil Academik still keep the league's top spot. His team belongs to top of the standings with 17-1 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Sundov is a newcomer at Lukoil Academik, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center John Ofoegbu (206-C-84) of Tundja Yambol (#4). Ofoegbu scored 19 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Tundja Yambol, leading his team to a 95-79 easy win against the lower-ranked Chernomorets (#8, 2-16). Tundja Yambol needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 8 lost games. Ofoegbu has a great season in Bulgaria. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.9ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 8.9rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Dimitar Marintchechki (201-F/C-90) of Balkan - 17 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Aaron Harper (199-G/F-81) of Levski Sofia - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Martin Durchev (200-G-87) of Tundja Yambol - 28 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Aleksandar Yanev (203-F-90) of Cherno More - 25 points and 6 rebounds
8. Brandon Heath (193-G-84) of Lukoil Academik - 11 points, 3 rebounds and 11 assists
9. Georgi Davidov (205-F/C-76) of Cherno More - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Tony Gugino (207-C-86) of Tundja Yambol - 7 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
