Levski (#5) forced the game against Montana 2003 (#4) into an overtime, but lost by three points 101-104 on Saturday night. The game took place in Sofia. But the guests from Montana were better at the end. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Levski. Worth to mention a great performance of Natalia Topalova-Shopova (186-F-80) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Montana 2003 (11-8) moved-up to third place, which they share with Beroe 07. Levski at the other side keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. Montana 2003 will face league's leader Dunav 8806 in Ruse in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Levski will play on the road against Rilski Sportist (#6) in Samokov and it may be a tough game between close rivals.


Neftochimic - Rilski Sportist 86-44
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Neftochimic (17-4) crushed 6th ranked Rilski Sportist (4-17) in Burgas 86-44 on Saturday. The game without a history. Neftochimic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Rilski Sportist's 24. Neftochimic forced 28 Rilski Sportist turnovers and outrebounded them 43-28 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Ukrainian guard Olga Dubrovina (170-87, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Maria Tsankova (180-88, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Neftochimic's coach Peter Marinov felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Emi Ushaguelova (181-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and center Tsvetelina Nikolova (191-88) added 9 points in the effort for Rilski Sportist. Neftochimic have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 17-4 record having just one points less than leader Dunav 8806. Newly promoted Rilski Sportist keeps the sixth position with 17 games lost. Neftochimic will have a break next round. Rilski Sportist will play at home against Levski (#5) in Sofia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Slavia (0-21) was smashed by first ranked Dunav 8806 (19-1) in Ruse 78-45 on Saturday. The game without a history. Dunav 8806 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia's 30. They outrebounded Slavia 57-29 including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Adrienne Johnson (182-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Dunav 8806 players scored in double figures. Dunav 8806's coach Georgi Bojkov felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Zornitsa Naydenova (172-89) answered with 12 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Aleksandra Delcheva (202-87) added 6 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Slavia. Dunav 8806 have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-1 record. Slavia at the other side still closes the standings. Levski trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 31-20 run in the last quarter tied the game at the end of regular time, But then they lost eventually overtime period 14-17. Montana 2003 made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Natalia Topalova-Shopova (186-80) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international center Dimana Makarieva (188-88) contributed with 30 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Juanita Ward (180-86, college: Syracuse, agency: Merit Sports) answered with 42 points (!!!) and the former international guard Diana Naydenova (171-73, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 15 points, 9 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Levski.
