Bulgaria U16 - Netherlands U16 57:53

Bulgarian U16 National Team recorded the first win at the international tournament in Turkey. They held off the Dutch opponents to improve at 1-1 record. Borislava Hristova (180-F-96) accounted for 19 points to lead the winners. Netherlands fell at 0-2 record after the loss.
Netherlands jumped to an early 7:2 lead but Bulgaria quickly bounced back. They triggered an 18:0 run and eventually posted a 20:9 lead after ten minutes. Bulgaria stretched the lead in the second quarter. They arrived at halftime up by 12 points 39:27. Netherlands took over midway through the third quarter. The Dutch team drew things level at 44. However Bulgaria jumped back into the lead and eked out a 48:46 advantage with ten minutes remaining. Netherlands trailed by a single point 53:54 with less than three minutes remaining. However Borislava Hristova drained a three-pointer and sealed the deal for the winners. Teodora Dineva (175-G-96) connected for 16 points, while Maria Kamburova (182-F-96) finished with 7 points and 8 rebounds for Bulgaria. Janis Ndiba answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds for Netherlands. Emese Hof (188-C-96) had 12 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.

Allen leaves Montana 2003 - 58 minutes ago
31-year old American guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame) left Montana 2003 (NBL). Allen played there also last season. In 20 games she averaged 13.0ppg, 6.4rpg, 5.3apg and 1.7spg. She helped them to make it to both league and Cup finals after they ended regular season as second best team. Stefan Mihaylov is the new head coach of Bulgaria Women NT - 24 days ago
Montana 2003 head coach Stefan Mihaylov was appointed and will be in charge of Bulgaria Women NT for the next 2 years. Mihaylov received an unanimous vote after the competition went short. Stefan Mihaylov was assistant coach for Georgi Bozhkov in the previous qualifications cycle. He is yet to announce his coaching staff. Bulgarian Basketball Federation has prepared summer camp for the Women NT which includes friendly games with Macedonia.   [read more]
