Portuguese U20 National Team played the first game in the test series in Bulgaria. They faced Bulgarian U18 selection and claimed victory. Miguel Cardoso (184-PG-93) and Santos came up with 12 points each to pace the visitors. Bulgaria and Portugal stayed close throughout the opening quarter. The scoreboard read 14:14 at the first break. Portugal surged ahead in the second period. They poured in 24 points to take a 9-point halftime lead. Bulgaria cut the deficit in the third term. They got within 6 points at the final intermission. But Portugal went on a 15:9 rally in the final frame to seal the victory at the end. Pedro Belo (214-C/F-92) finished with 9 points for the winners. Denislav Vutev (206-C-94) answered with 16 points for Bulgaria. Vasyl Mikhailov added 10 points in the loss.
