U20 GREECE - U20 BULGARIA 55-48

Greece was better than Bulgaria on Thursday 55-48. It was the opening day of U20 EuroBasket Division B in Klatovy. Greece started with 1-0 and hopes to take one of the medals at this event. It will be enough for Division A promotion. Greece was up by 12 at the halftime, but Bulgaria exploded after the breather cutting the margin to 3 points with one quarter to go. Greece exploded with 11-2 run in the next few minutes to secure the victory in this game. Artemis Spanou (184-F-93) top-scored in Greece with 12 points and she also pulled down 13 rebounds, while Anthoula Chatzigiakoumi (187-F-92) was the MVP of this game with 11 points and 18 rebs (valuation 21). Vasiliki Tarla (181-SF-94) also helped her country with 11 pts. In defeat, Mariya Svetoslavova (179-F/G-93) and Viktoriya Stoycheva (171-PG-92) posted 11 points each. Hristina Tyutyundzhieva (189-C-93) added two points less. Greece will play against Romania today. Bulgaria will take on Belgium.

Talented Antonia Filipova (180-SF-98) had an amazing evening in the last round for Slavia and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1. The 19-year old had the game-high 19 points adding seven rebounds and three assists for Slavia in her team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team NSA (#5, 0-1) with 19-point margin 65-46.
