American Mohammed Abukar (208-F-85, agency: Two Points) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Lukoil Academik and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 27-year old forward had the game-high 21 points adding six rebounds for Lukoil Academik in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Levski Sofia (#4, 2-1) with 27-point margin 91-64. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Lukoil Academik to jump to the first place in the Bulgarian NBL. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Lukoil Academik already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. Abukar turned to be Lukoil Academik's top player in his first season with the team. San Diego State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Abukar is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.0ppg) and averages solid 65.4% FGP and 44.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old American forward Brian Ormon (201-F-84) of Tundja Yambol. Ormon impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds. It was enough for Tundja Yambol to edge Beroe (0-2) by 2 points 72-70. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Ormon is a newcomer at Tundja Yambol and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was international guard Ivan Lilov (196-SG-88) of Balkan (#6). Lilov scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of Balkan, leading his team to a 82-73 win against Cherno More (#2, 2-1). Balkan needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Lilov has a great season in Bulgaria. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.7ppg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. James Tyler (218-C-88) of Chernomorets - 10 points and 12 rebounds
5. Darryl Watkins (211-C-84) of Lukoil Academik - 18 points and 9 rebounds
6. Uros Petrovic (205-F-90) of Balkan - 20 points and 7 rebounds
7. Asen Velikov (185-PG-86) of Cherno More - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Reginald Holmes (193-G-87) of Beroe - 21 points and 7 rebounds
9. Michael Hart (206-C/F-85) of Beroe - 16 points and 8 rebounds
10. Braxton Dupree (203-F-89) of Rilski Sportist - 16 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
