Asen Velikov
Former international point guard Asen Velikov (185-PG-86) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Cherno More, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 26-year old player got a double-double of 23 points and 10 assists, while his team crushed Spartak Pleven (#9, 1-4) with 17-point margin 98-81. Cherno More is placed at 2nd position in Bulgarian NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Cherno More will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Velikov had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Cherno More's top player in his first season with the team. Asen Velikov has solid league stats. He is in league's top in assists (6th best: 5.0apg) and averages impressive 3.6spg and 67.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old American James Tyler (218-C-88) of Chernomorets. Tyler had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 20 rebounds. It was enough for Chernomorets to edge the lower-ranked Balkan (#8, 2-4) 84-82. This victory allowed Chernomorets to move up to 4th position in the standings. His team's 3-2 record is not bad at all. Tyler is a newcomer at Chernomorets, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.0ppg (#6). He also registered 14.8 boards per game. Former star Tyler is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Will Walker (183-G) of Beroe (#7). Walker scored 17 points and passed twelve assists (!!!). He was a key player of Beroe, leading his team to a 102-55 easy win against U20 (#10, 0-5). Beroe needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Walker has a great season in Bulgaria. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.8apg (best passer).

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
