Gescrap Bilbao accounted for the third straight win at the EuroCup regular season. They knocked down Lukoil Academik in Bulgaria to remain on top of Group B. Lamont Hamilton (208-C/F-84, college: St.John's) posted 19 points and 8 rebounds for the visitors.
Lukoil started the game strongly. The home team dropped 25 points to take a 2-point lead. But the Basque team erased the deficit in the second frame. Bilbao pulled ahead for a slim 43:42 halftime lead. The breakthrough for the Spanish team happened in the third quarter. Bilbao proved their dominance with a 21:9 run to ensure a 13-point advantage. Bilbao stayed in charge throughout the fourth stanza. They did not give the hosts a single chance cruising to the victory. Kostas Vasiliadis (200-G/F-84, agency: FCM) netted 15 points, while Alex Mumbru (202-F-79) posted 13 points and 8 assists for the winners. Devin Green (201-G/F-82, college: Hampton) answered with 13 points and 11 boards for Lukoil. Mohammed Abukar (208-F-85, agency: Two Points, college: San Diego St.) had 11 points in the loss.

FINAL Balkan - Lukoil Acad. 81-86 Lukoil Academik defended NBL title. They raced past Balkan to complete the sweep of the championship series.
