The most important game in the last round took place in Stara Zagora between third ranked Beroe (4-5) and sixth ranked Haskovo 2012 (3-5) on Wednesday night. Beroe was defeated by Haskovo 2012 in a tough game at home 55-62. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 16-6 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Haskovo 2012 dominated on the defensive end, holding Beroe to just 6 points in third and fourth quarters. Haskovo 2012 forced 21 Beroe turnovers. Bosnian power forward Alma Kovacevic (186-83) fired 9 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian guard Amra Mehmedic (177-81) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 steals. The former international forward Radostina Dimitrova (185-85) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Haskovo 2012 moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Montana 2003. Beroe lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Haskovo 2012 is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Rilski Sportist (#7) in Samokov in the next round. Beroe will have a break next round.

It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Dunav 8806. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Ashley Gayle (193-90, college: Texas, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Olga Dubrovina contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Kristina Santiago (185-89, college: Cal Poly - SLO, agency: LBM Management) replied with 26 points and 7 rebounds for Dunav 8806. Undefeated Neftochimic have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record. Defending champion Dunav 8806 keeps the second place with two games lost. Neftochimic will play against Montana 2003 (#5) at home in the next round. Dunav 8806 will play against Levski in Sofia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Rilski Sportist will play against Haskovo 2012 (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.



Rilski Sportist - Levski 61-74

Bottom-ranked Rilski Sportist (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 74-61 loss to fourth ranked Levski (5-4) in Samokov on Wednesday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 36-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Levski dominated on the defensive end, holding Rilski Sportist to just 4 points in third quarter. They also forced 25 Rilski Sportist turnovers. American guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame) scored 23 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 9 steals to lead the charge for the winners and international forward Daniela Peteva (179-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists during the contest. Levski's coach Stefan Mihaylov used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rilski Sportist at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. 31-year old American guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame) left Montana 2003 (NBL). Allen played there also last season. In 20 games she averaged 13.0ppg, 6.4rpg, 5.3apg and 1.7spg. She helped them to make it to both league and Cup finals after they ended regular season as second best team. Montana 2003 head coach Stefan Mihaylov was appointed and will be in charge of Bulgaria Women NT for the next 2 years. Mihaylov received an unanimous vote after the competition went short. Stefan Mihaylov was assistant coach for Georgi Bozhkov in the previous qualifications cycle. He is yet to announce his coaching staff.
