American center James Tyler (218-C-88) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Chernomorets, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds, while his team Chernomorets maintains the 8th position in Bulgarian NBL. Chernomorets is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 5th lost game this season out of 8 games. Tyler turned to be Chernomorets' top player in his first season with the team. James Tyler has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 18.3ppg) and averages impressive 2.8bpg and 68.1% FGP. Worth to mention Tyler played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old Montenegrin Nemanja Milosevic (204-F/C-87, agency: Interperformances) of Tundja Yambol. Milosevic had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Tundja Yambol lost that game 68-86 to the higher-ranked Levski Sofia (#3, 6-2). This loss caused Tundja Yambol to drop to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Milosevic is a newcomer at Tundja Yambol, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Aleks Simeonov (200-F-93) of U20 (#10). Simeonov scored 27 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Simeonov's great performance U20 lost 80-86 to the higher-ranked Cherno More (#5, 4-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. U20 can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 8 games. Too bad for Simeonov he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Simeonov has individually a great season in Bulgaria. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.0rpg (7th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Atila Santos (208-C-83) of Balkan - 17 points and 17 rebounds
5. Branko Mirkovic (190-G-82) of Rilski Sportist - 25 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists
6. Chavdar Kostov (195-SG-88) of Levski Sofia - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Dimitar Marintchechki (201-F/C-90) of Spartak Pleven - 20 points and 14 rebounds
8. Nikolay Stoyanov (195-SF-94) of Cherno More - 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Larry Hall (190-G-83) of Cherno More - 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Hristo Zahariev (197-SG-90) of Rilski Sportist - 22 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
