Ivana Grubor
23-year old forward Kristina Santiago (185-F-89, agency: LBM Management) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Dunav 8806 and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 12.
She had a double-double of 31 points and 13 rebounds, while her team crushed Haskovo 2012 (#6, 4-6) with 24-point margin 85-61. Dunav 8806 maintains the 2nd position in Bulgarian NBL. They are still close to the very top. Dunav 8806 would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 8-2 record. Santiago turned to be Dunav 8806's top player in her first season with the team. Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo graduate has very impressive stats this year. Santiago is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.0ppg. Santiago is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 9.3rpg) and averages solid 1.3bpg and 59.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Milena Tomova (189-F/C-82) of Montana 2003. She is former international forward in her first season at Montana 2003. In the last game Tomova recorded impressive double-double of 32 points and 16 rebounds. Of course she lead Montana 2003 to another comfortable win 72-56 over slightly higher-ranked Levski (#3, 5-6) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Montana 2003 to move up to 5th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-6 record. Tomova is a newcomer at Montana 2003 and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.4ppg (#4). She also registered 8.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Radostina Dimitrova (185-F-85) of Beroe (#4). Dimitrova showcased her all-around game by recording 25 points, five rebounds and five assists in the last round. Despite Dimitrova's great performance Beroe lost 61-70 to the lower-ranked Rilski Sportist (#7, 1-10). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Beroe ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Dimitrova could help Beroe to bring them higher in the standings. Dimitrova has a great season in Bulgaria. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.7ppg (2nd best), rebounds with 6.7rpg (8th best) and assists with 2.6apg (9th best). She also has FGP: 54.6% and 3PT: 61.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Zornitsa Kostova (176-G-82) of Dunav 8806 - 8 points, 2 rebounds and 11 assists
5. Radostina Slavova-Naneva (188-F/C-86) of Montana 2003 - 8 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Tsvetelina Nikolova (191-C-88) of Rilski Sportist - 16 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Merike Anderson (180-F/G-81) of Dunav 8806 - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Anne Farrell (187-C/F-88) of Rilski Sportist - 12 points and 11 rebounds
9. Daniela Peteva (179-F-89) of Levski - 20 points and 7 rebounds
10. Radmila Nesheva (172-PG-81) of Montana 2003 - 8 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
