The most exciting game of round 13 in the NBL took place in Haskovo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Montana 2003 (4-7) to sixth ranked Haskovo 2012 (5-6) 78-75 on Tuesday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Montana 2003 won third quarter 23-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Haskovo 2012 forced 21 Montana 2003 turnovers. Bosnian guard Amra Mehmedic (177-81) stepped up and scored 23 points and 4 assists for the winners and guard Zornitsa Naydenova (172-89) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side the former international power forward Milena Tomova (189-82, college: FIU) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds. Haskovo 2012 moved-up to third place. Montana 2003 at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Beroe. Haskovo 2012 are looking forward to face league's leader Neftochimic in Burgas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Montana 2003 will play at home against Beroe (#5) in Stara Zagora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very significant was Dunav 8806's (#2, 9-2) victory against 4th placed Beroe (4-7) 79-60. American forward Amanda Johnson (187-90, college: Oregon, agency: LBM Management) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points, 19 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winning side and Zornitsa Kostova accounted for 10 points and 9 assists. The former international forward Radostina Dimitrova (185-85) came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds for Beroe in the defeat. Dunav 8806 have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Neftochimic. Beroe lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Montana 2003. Dunav 8806 will play against bottom-ranked Rilski Sportist (#7) in Samokov in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Beroe will play on the road against Montana 2003 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Daniela Peteva produced 22 points for lost side. Undefeated Neftochimic (11-0) have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 11 victories in a row. Levski lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Neftochimic will meet at home Haskovo 2012 (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Levski will have a break next round.

Very significant was Dunav 8806's (#2, 9-2) victory against 4th placed Beroe (4-7) 79-60. The game was mostly controlled by Dunav 8806. Beroe was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Beroe 35-24 including 22 on the defensive glass. Dunav 8806 players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American forward Amanda Johnson (187-90, college: Oregon, agency: LBM Management) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points, 19 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winning side and the former international guard Zornitsa Kostova (176-82) accounted for 10 points and 9 assists. Five Dunav 8806 players scored in double figures. Very significant was Neftochimic's (#1, 11-0) victory against 3rd placed Levski (5-7) 78-69. Levski trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 22-14 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 69-78 at the end of the game. Neftochimic made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Neftochimic outrebounded Levski 43-30 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American power forward Ashley Gayle (193-90, college: Texas, agency: LBM Management) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Her fellow American import guard Tahnee Robinson (175-88, college: Nevada, agency: LBM Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. International forward Daniela Peteva (179-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) produced 22 points and American guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. 31-year old American guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame) left Montana 2003 (NBL). Allen played there also last season. In 20 games she averaged 13.0ppg, 6.4rpg, 5.3apg and 1.7spg. She helped them to make it to both league and Cup finals after they ended regular season as second best team. Montana 2003 head coach Stefan Mihaylov was appointed and will be in charge of Bulgaria Women NT for the next 2 years. Mihaylov received an unanimous vote after the competition went short. Stefan Mihaylov was assistant coach for Georgi Bozhkov in the previous qualifications cycle. He is yet to announce his coaching staff.
