International forward Maria Zhelyazkova (181-F-86, agency: Promotex) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Neftochimic and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 14. The 26-year old forward had a double-double of 15 points and ten rebounds, while her team outclassed Haskovo 2012 (#3, 5-7) with 29-point margin 87-58. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Neftochimic to consolidate first place in the Bulgarian NBL. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and Neftochimic still have not lost a single game, getting all 12 victories. Zhelyazkova has many years of experience at Neftochimic, through which he has constantly improved. Maria Zhelyazkova averages this season 10.2ppg and 5.3rpg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old Bosnia and Herzegovina guard Amra Mehmedic (177-G-81) of Haskovo 2012. Mehmedic impressed basketball fans with 33 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Haskovo 2012 lost that game 58-87 to league's leader Neftochimic (#1, 12-0). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Haskovo 2012 still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-7 record. Mehmedic is a newcomer at Haskovo 2012 and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was another Neftochimic's star - American Tahnee Robinson (175-G-88, agency: LBM Management). Robinson scored 18 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of Neftochimic, helping her team with a 87-58 easy win against #3 ranked Haskovo 2012. Neftochimic have amazing season winning all 12 games without a single defeat. Robinson turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Robinson has a great season in Bulgaria. After 10 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.7ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 8.8rpg (6th best).
