Walker's 29 points and 8 assists give him Player of the Week award - Jan 20, 2013

Will Walker
-year old guard Will Walker (183-G) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Beroe and receives a Player of the Week award for round 13.
He had the game-high 29 points adding six rebounds and eight assists for Beroe in his team's victory, helping them to beat Chernomorets (#8, 4-8) 98-88. Beroe maintains the 7th position in Bulgarian league. Beroe is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-8 record. In the team's last game Walker had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Beroe's top player in his first season with the team. De Paul University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Walker is league's best passer with 7.2apg. Walker

Second best performed player last round was James Tyler (218-C-88) of Chernomorets. He is American center in his first season at Chernomorets. In the last game Tyler recorded impressive double-double of 18 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Chernomorets lost that game 88-98 to slightly higher-ranked Beroe (#7, 5-8). Chernomorets is still second from the bottom in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-8 record. Tyler is a newcomer at Chernomorets and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.8ppg (#3). He also registered 14.0 boards per game. Former star Tyler is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third place about best performers goes to center Tony Gugino (207-C-86) of Rilski Sportist (#3). Gugino scored 8 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Rilski Sportist, leading his team to a 90-69 easy win against U20 (#10, 0-13). Rilski Sportist needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 4 lost games. Gugino has a great season in Bulgaria. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 6.8rpg (9th best). He also has 2.4spg, 1.2bpg and FGP: 50.7%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jordan Bozov (191-G-79) of Balkan - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Martin Durchev (204-SF-87) of Tundja Yambol - 24 points and 2 rebounds
6. Atanas Radev (200-F-81) of Beroe - 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Terry Smith (185-PG-86) of Rilski Sportist - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Larry Hall (190-G-83) of Cherno More - 17 points and 9 rebounds
9. Devin Green (201-G/F-82) of Lukoil Academik - 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Nikolay Varbanov (210-C-85) of Levski Sofia - 12 points and 11 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
