Seventh-ranked Rilski Sportist (1-15) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Haskovo 2012 (7-8) in Samokov on Wednesday. The visitors from Haskovo managed to secure only one-point victory 64-63. However their fans expected easier game. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 17-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Haskovo 2012 dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Rilski Sportist's 22. The best player for the winners was Latvian center Anita Teilane (196-85) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. Montenegrin Biljana Turcinovic (186-89) chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Anne Farrell (187-88, college: Centenary, LA, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who recorded 16 points and 9 rebounds. Haskovo 2012 moved-up to fourth place. Rilski Sportist lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Haskovo 2012 are looking forward to face league's second-placed Dunav 8806 in Ruse in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Rilski Sportist will play on the road against Beroe (#6) in Stara Zagora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Dunav 8806 - Levski 84-63

An exciting game was played in Ruse. Second ranked Dunav 8806 faced one of their biggest challengers Levski. Host Dunav 8806 (12-3) smashed guests from Sofia (8-8) 84-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Levski. It looked good early as Levski took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dunav 8806 had a 21-17 second period charge getting the lead and Levski was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-84. Dunav 8806 dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Levski's 34. Dunav 8806 forced 20 Levski turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Kristina Santiago (185-89, college: Cal Poly - SLO, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The other American import forward Amanda Johnson (187-90, college: Oregon, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Dunav 8806 players scored in double figures.
