Executive director of Bulgarian champion Lukoil Academic Sasa Vezenkov (198-F-63) began with victory at the head of the team. Vezenkov, who will combine and position of head coach until the end of the season, led The Students to 100:69 road win over Yambol.

Darryl Watkins (211-C-84, college: Syracuse) was unstopable with 19 points, Pavel Marinov (199-SF-88, agency: Interperformances) came with 16 points off the bench and Veselin Veselinov (201-F-83, agency: Interperformances, college: W.Virginia St.) added another 15 points with strong performance in the starting line up.

In Lukoil can breathe easier now, because two of their key players are back after almost 2 months of absence. The captain of the team Todor Stoykov (198-G/F-77, agency: Interperformances) was out since beginning of December with broken finger and Bozhidar Avramov (196-PG-90, agency: Interperformances) appeared on the court for the first time since the end of November, when he broke his hand. Stoykov even started the game and Avramov scored 10 points after the break.
