KK Fersped-Rabotnicki Skopje (Prva Liga) strengthened their roster with addition of 28-year old American forward Mohammed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego State, agency: Two Points). He played at Lukoil Academik in Bulgarian NBL league. In 7 games this season he recorded 14.3ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.9apg. Abukar also played 6 games in Eurocup where he averaged 13.8ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.0apg. He also played 1 game in Euroleague where he had 5 points and 2 rebounds. The last season Abukar played at Lugano Tigers (LNA) in Swiss league. In 32 games last year he was the best scorer with impressive 20.3ppg and recorded 5.6rpg and 1.6apg. He helped them to win the league title and the cup. Great season indeed as he was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Swiss LNA Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year and Forward of the Year. In 2008 (a year after he left the college) Abukar was drafted by Austin Toros (D-League) in second round (17th overall). The former San Diego State staris in his sixth season in pro basketball. Among other achievements Abukar received Eurobasket.com All-Swiss LNA Player of the Year award in 2011. He was a member of USA U18 National Team back in 2002. Abukar has played also professionally in Holland (ABC Amsterdam), Italy (Cantu) and D-League (Idaho Stampede). The scouts decsribe him following way:

The series are best of 5 as a very interesting match is coming after one day off in Pravets at 15.30 on Saturday before the series to move "Universiada" Hall in the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia.
The first half was very even as Levski took for several times lead in the match, but Lukoil Academic were able to come back. First 20 minutes were conducted with frequent changes of leadership and at the break Lukoil Academic was ahead by a point, 46-45.
The second half started with a triple by Marko Marinovic (183-PG-83) and Levski was again ahead. The third quarter was equal to the very end, when bad behavior on the bench of hosts allowed Levski to score consecutive free throws and they grabbed an advance of 70-62 after 30 minutes.
Levski kept the advance to the last 3 minutes when Lukoil got back in the game and even took a point lead minute and a half before the final whistle. Mladen Pantic followed with important basket after a beautiful combination. In the remaining moments Levski were able to protect their basket and did not allow any basket which practically meant only one thing - win for Levski and 1-0 in the series in their favor.
Marko Marinovic scored most for the winners - 18 points, 17 had Nemanja Protic and Dimitar Angelov added 12.
For Lukoil Darryl Watkins was the top scorer with 24 points, but missed a lot of free throws. Bozhidar Avramov added 21 points and 14 were managed by Brandon Heath.
The second match, as we said its on Saturday (25 May) at the sports complex in Pravets starting at 15:30 local time.
