The Regular Season in NBL is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds.

Leader Lukoil Academik delivered the thirteenth win on Saturday night. This time they beat 8th ranked Chernomorets (4-10) 88-80 in Burgas. Chernomorets trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 30-24 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 80-88 at the end of the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Chernomorets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American center Darryl Watkins (211-84, college: Syracuse) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Bozhidar Avramov (196-90, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Bogdan Boev (196-82) who recorded 14 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lukoil Academik have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-2 record. Chernomorets lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Lukoil Academik are looking forward to face Beroe (#7) in Stara Zagora in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Chernomorets will play at home against Spartak Pleven and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked U20 (0-15) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 84-44 loss to second ranked Levski Sofia (12-3) in Sofia. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. It was a good game for international Chavdar Kostov (195-88, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 6 steals. Marko Marinovic contributed with 17 points for the winners. Forward Aleks Simeonov (200-93) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds for U20. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Levski Sofia maintains second place with 12-3 record behind leader Lukoil Academik. Newly promoted U20 still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Levski Sofia will play against Euroins Cherno More (#6) in Varna in the next round. U20 will play at home against Balkan (#4) in Botevgrad and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Pleven was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Tundja Yambol (8-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Spartak Pleven (4-11). Tundja Yambol managed to secure a 4-point victory 73-69 on Saturday. The best for the losing side was Dimitar Marintchechki with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Tundja Yambol maintains fifth place with 8-7 record. Spartak Pleven lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Tundja Yambol will meet at home higher ranked Rilski Sportist (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spartak Pleven will play against Chernomorets (#8) in Burgas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
