Leader Lukoil Academik delivered the thirteenth win on Saturday night. This time they beat 8th ranked Chernomorets (4-10) 88-80 in Burgas. Chernomorets trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 30-24 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 80-88 at the end of the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Chernomorets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American center Darryl Watkins (211-84, college: Syracuse) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Bozhidar Avramov (196-90, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Bogdan Boev (196-82) who recorded 14 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lukoil Academik have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-2 record. Chernomorets lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Lukoil Academik are looking forward to face Beroe (#7) in Stara Zagora in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Chernomorets will play at home against Spartak Pleven and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Bottom-ranked U20 (0-15) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 84-44 loss to second ranked Levski Sofia (12-3) in Sofia. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. It was a good game for international Chavdar Kostov (195-88, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 6 steals. Tundja Yambol managed to secure a 4-point victory 73-69 on Saturday. It was a great evening for Nemanja Milosevic who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Dimitar Marintchechki with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Tundja Yambol maintains fifth place with 8-7 record. Spartak Pleven lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Tundja Yambol will meet at home higher ranked Rilski Sportist (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spartak Pleven will play against Chernomorets (#8) in Burgas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
In the last two games of round 15 Beroe was defeated by Balkan in Botevgrad 84-68. Rilski Sportist beat Cherno More at home 100-83.

Bulgaria U20 got another big win over Romania U20 - 100-53 - in the second of the two friendly games between the two teams. In the first one the scoreboard showed 86-58.
The Bulgarian team played even better than yesterday, and allowed only 19 points in the first half, while scoring at least 19 in each of the quarters - 22, 19, 33 and 26 respectively.

Xavier prospect will spent some time with U20 team, before it's decided whether he will join U18. Pavlin Ivanov (194-SG-93, agency: Beo Basket) scored 11, Dimitar Dimitrov (203-F-93, agency: Interperformances) and Georgi Funtarov (201-F-93) - 10 each.
