An interesting game for Neftochimic (17-0) which hosted in Burgas 3rd ranked Levski (9-9). Top-ranked Neftochimic had an easy win 81-63. The game was mostly controlled by Neftochimic. Levski managed to win second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Neftochimic outrebounded Levski 39-28 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Ashley Gayle (193-90, college: Texas, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks. Ukrainian guard Olga Dubrovina (170-87, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Neftochimic's coach Peter Marinov used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame) replied with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for Levski. Undefeated Neftochimic have an impressive 17-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-0 record. Levski at the other side keeps the third place with nine games lost. Neftochimic are looking forward to face Haskovo 2012 (#4) on the road in the next round. Levski will have a break next round.
The game in Montana was also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Haskovo 2012 (8-9) played at the court of fifth ranked Montana 2003 (7-10). Montana 2003 defeated Haskovo 2012 81-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Haskovo 2012. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Milena Tomova (189-82, college: FIU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and Radostina Slavova-Naneva who added 13 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Latvian center Anita Teilane (196-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Montana 2003 maintains fifth position with 7-10 record. Newly promoted Haskovo 2012 keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Montana 2003 will play against Beroe (#6) in Stara Zagora in the next round. Haskovo 2012 will play at home against the league's leader Neftochimic in Burgas and hopes to get back on the winning track.

The game between second ranked Dunav 8806 (13-4) and 6th ranked Beroe (4-12) in Ruse on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Dunav 8806 outscored guests from Stara Zagora 88-56. The game without a history. Dunav 8806 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Beroe's 34. Dunav 8806 looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Beroe's players. The winners were led by American forward Kristina Santiago (185-89, college: Cal Poly - SLO, agency: LBM Management) who scored that evening 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Estonian swingman Merike Anderson (180-81, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 14 points and 10 assists. Five Dunav 8806 players scored in double figures. Mann Filter Zaragoza (LFB) re-signed 28-year old Bulgarian ex-international power forward Jaklin Zlatanova (190-88). She played there last season. In 28 LFB games she averaged 12.1ppg, 8.6rpg, 2.4apg and 1.3spg. She helped them to make it to the semifinals. It was a very successful season in her career as she was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LFB Honorable Mention and All-Bosmans Team.
