American Forward Evan Bruinsma (202-F-92, agency: Inception Sports) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Rilski, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 18. The 24-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Akademik PL (#2, 11-5) 94-82. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Rilski is placed at 4th position in Bulgarian NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Rilski will need more victories to improve their 9-7 record. In the team's last game Bruinsma had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He turned to be Rilski's top player in his first season with the team. The second best player in last round's games was 31-year old Martin Marinov (191-SG-85, agency: 011 Sports) of Spartak Pleven. Marinov had a very good evening with 29 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course he led Spartak Pleven to another comfortable win 93-77 over slightly lower-ranked Cherno More (#7, 5-11) being unquestionably team leader. Spartak Pleven's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 8-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Marinov is a newcomer at Spartak Pleven, but is already one of team's top players.

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
