Levski clinched a road win in the latest Balkan League encounter. The win allowed Levski jump at 4-2 record on top of First Six pool. Kavala slipped at 3-3 record. Chavdar Kostov (195-SG-88, agency: Interperformances) nailed 22 points to lead the winners.
Levski had the upper hand in the opening period. The visitors gained an 18:14 lead after ten minutes. Kavala though stopped the rot in the second frame. The Greek team adjusted their defence and bounced back to narrow the deficit at just two-point mark 31:33 at halftime. Levski increased the tempo in the third quarter. The Bulgarian side fired 23 points and cleared off to a 5-point advantage with one quarter remaining. Levski built an 11-point lead midway through the fourth quarter 58:69. But Kavala answered with a 12:1 run to level things up at 70 with under two minutes remaining. Chavdar Kostov and Marinovic nailed timely four points for the visitors as they claimed a 74:72 lead. Tairu put the hosts within one 73:74 but Zlatin Georgiev (195-G-85) capped the regulation with a three-pointer and sealed the victory for Levski. Zlatin Georgiev and Stefan Georgiev (206-C/F-78) delivered 13 points each for the winners. Igor Milosevic (193-G-86, agency: Beo Basket) and Kieron Achara (208-F/C-83, agency: Two Points, college: Duquesne) answered with 15 points apiece for Kavala.

Defending champion Lukoil Academic Sofia (NBL) agreed terms with 24-year old international power forward Dimitar Dimitrov (203-93, agency: Interperformances). It is actually his comeback to Sofia as he has played here before. Dimitrov just played at Akademik Bulteks 99 Plovdiv in Bulgarian NBL league. In 6 games he had very impressive stats: 16.0ppg, 5.3rpg, 2.3apg and 1.3spg this season. LEB Gold newcomer Saenz Horeca Araberri parted ways with 30-year old Bulgarian small forward Martin Durchev (203-90kg-87). In 18 LEB Gold games he averaged 5.0ppg and 1.2rpg this season. The last season Durchev played at Balkan in Bulgarian NBL where in 35 games he had 11.1ppg, 2.9rpg and 2.7apg.
