There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in NBL.

An interesting game for Lukoil Academik (15-2) which hosted in Sofia 3rd placed Balkan (11-6). First ranked Lukoil Academik managed to get a 11-point victory 82-71. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Balkan. The game was mostly controlled by Lukoil Academik. Balkan managed to win fourth quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Lukoil Academik outrebounded Balkan 33-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. American center Darryl Watkins (211-84, college: Syracuse) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Bozhidar Avramov (196-90, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Serbian forward Vladimir Panic (194-82) answered with 21 points and 4 assists for Balkan. Balkan's coach Aleksandar Todorov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lukoil Academik have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 15-2 record. Balkan at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Lukoil Academik's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sofia to the arena U20.
Bottom-ranked U20 is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 17th consecutive match to sixth ranked Euroins Cherno More (7-9) 84-55. Greek center Giorgos Galiotos (213-86, agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and Asen Velikov chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Nikolay Stoyanov (195-94) responded with 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Euroins Cherno More maintains sixth place with 7-9 record. U20 lost their seventeenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings. Euroins Cherno More will play against higher ranked Tundja Yambol (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. U20's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sofia Lukoil Academik.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 17: Beroe smashed Spartak Pleven on the road 103-78. Rilski Sportist destroyed Chernomorets on its own court 101-80. Tundja Yambol unfortunately lost to Levski Sofia in a road game 67-78.
The most impressive performance of 17th round was 33 points (!!!) by Chavdar Kostov of Levski Sofia.

Spartak Pleven - Beroe 78-103

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Beroe (7-10) crushed on the road 9th ranked Spartak Pleven (4-13) 103-78. The game without a history. Beroe led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven's 26 and made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Spartak Pleven 35-18 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Reginald Holmes (193-87, college: Morgan St.) stepped up and scored 30 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import center Mitchell Carter (208, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee, agency: Veracity Sports, LLC) chipped in 15 points and 12 rebounds. Carter is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Beroe's coach Georgi Mladenov felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Veselin Georgiev (196-86) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and guard Tsvetoslav Ostrev (184-86) scored 10 points and 6 assists. Rilski Sportist - Chernomorets 101-80

Very expected game when 8th ranked Chernomorets (5-11) was smashed by third ranked Rilski Sportist (12-5) in Samokov 101-80. It looked good early as Chernomorets took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Rilski Sportist had a 23-19 second period charge getting the lead and Chernomorets was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-101. Levski Sofia - Tundja Yambol 78-67

Rather predictable result when second ranked Levski Sofia (14-3) won against at home 5th ranked Tundja Yambol (9-8) 78-67. The game was mostly controlled by Levski Sofia. Tundja Yambol was better in fourth quarter 27-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
