Nemanja Milosevic claims Bulgarian NBL weekly honour - Mar 11, 2013

Nemanja
Milosevic
Montenegrin Nemanja Milosevic (204-C/F-87, agency: Interperformances) had a great game in the last round for Tundja Yambol and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 25-year old had a double-double of 26 points and ten rebounds, while his team beat U20 (#10, 0-19), the league's bottom-ranked team 94-86. Tundja Yambol maintains the 5th position in Bulgarian NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tundja Yambol will need more victories to improve their 11-8 record. Milosevic turned to be Tundja Yambol's top player in his first season with the team. Western Kentucky University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Milosevic is in league's top in points (9th best: 16.6ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 9.1rpg) and averages solid 55.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old American guard Will Walker (183-G-87) of Beroe. Walker impressed basketball fans with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Beroe lost that game 83-91 to the higher-ranked Levski Sofia (#2, 16-3). This loss caused Beroe to drop to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-12 record. Walker is a newcomer at Beroe and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Ivo Slavchev (198-F-90) of Chernomorets (#8). Slavchev showcased his all-around game by recording 14 points, twenty one rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. Despite Slavchev's great performance Chernomorets lost 81-86 to slightly higher-ranked Cherno More (#6, 8-11). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Chernomorets not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 13 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Slavchev could try to bring Chernomorets' a little bit higher in the standings. Slavchev has a very solid season. In 19 games in Bulgaria he scored 8.2ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ljubisa Vrcelj (210-C-84) of Cherno More - 24 points and 11 rebounds
5. Marko Marinovic (183-PG-83) of Levski Sofia - 15 points, 4 rebounds and 11 assists
6. Dimitris Haritopoulos (205-F/C-83) of Lukoil Academik - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Darryl Watkins (211-C-84) of Lukoil Academik - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Stefan Georgiev (206-C/F-78) of Levski Sofia - 10 points and 8 rebounds
9. Aleks Simeonov (200-F-93) of U20 - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Simeon Iliev (203-F-89) of Cherno More - 15 points and 8 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
