Host teams show no mercy winning all games.

The most exciting game of round 13 in the NBL took place in Plovdiv. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Cherno More (4-8) to third ranked Academik Plovdiv (7-4) 90-89 on Sunday evening. French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St.) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Shakir Smith (185-92, college: Adams St.) chipped in 23 points. Guard Stanislav Tsonkov (192-91) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Cherno More's coach Spas Natov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Academik Plovdiv maintains third place with 7-4 record having four points less than leader Lukoil Acad. Cherno More at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Academik Plovdiv are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Levski (#9) in Sofia in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cherno More will play at home against Balkan and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Leader Lukoil Acad. delivered the tenth victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Levski (2-10) 84-69 in Sofia. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Denis Agre (205-88, college: Pepperdine) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 9 rebounds. Danny Gibson contributed with 10 points and 6 assists for the winners. Lukoil Acad.'s coach Toni Dechev allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Kiril Raykov (192-87) answered with 20 points for Levski. Lukoil Acad. have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-2 record. Levski lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Lukoil Acad. will play against Yambol (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Levski will play against Academik Plovdiv and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Beroe will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Spartak Pleven will play against Rilski (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 13 Yambol was defeated by Rilski in Samokov 102-90.

Rilski - Yambol 102-90

There was no surprise in Samokov where 8th ranked Yambol (3-8) was defeated by fifth ranked Rilski (6-6) 102-90 on Sunday. Rilski made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Rilski outrebounded Yambol 39-18 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. American forward D.J. Shelton (208-91, college: Washington St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners and his fellow American import forward Evan Bruinsma (202-92, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. At the losing side guard Ventsislav Petkov (188-91, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 assists and the former international center Nikolay Varbanov (209-85, agency: Interperformances) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Rilski and five Yambol players scored in double figures. Rilski maintains fifth place with 6-6 record. Yambol lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. Rilski will meet Spartak Pleven (#6) on the road in the next round. Yambol will play against the league's leader Lukoil Acad. and hope to secure a win.

It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Spartak Pleven. Beroe dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven's 30. Beroe forced 21 Spartak Pleven turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Beroe especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. American guard Brandis Raley-Ross (191-87, college: S.Carolina) stepped up and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard Shane Gibson (188-90, college: Sacred Heart) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Beroe players scored in double figures.
