Semple
French-American Forward Jordan Semple (201-F-92) had a very impressive game in the last round for Akademik PL, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 15 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat Yambol (#8, 3-10) 87-78. Akademik PL maintains the 3rd position in Bulgarian NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Akademik PL will need more victories to improve their 9-4 record. In the team's last game Semple had a remarkable 53.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Akademik PL's top player in his first season with the team. Former Cal State - Chico star has very solid stats this year. Semple is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.2ppg) and averages impressive 1.7bpg and 68.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old former international swingman Hristo Zahariev (197-G/F-90) of league's leader Lukoil Acad.. Zahariev had a very good evening with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Lukoil Acad. to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Spartak Pleven (#6, 6-7) 104-71. Of course Lukoil Acad. still keep the league's top spot. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 12 matches. Zahariev is a newcomer at Lukoil Acad., but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Akademik PL's star - American guard Oscar Bellfield (187-PG-90). Bellfield showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, five rebounds and twelve assists (!!!) in the last round. He was another key player of Akademik PL, helping his team with a 87-78 win against the lower-ranked Yambol (#8, 3-10). Akademik PL needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 4 lost games. Bellfield has a great season in Bulgaria. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.1apg (best passer).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ventsislav Petkov (188-G-91) of Yambol - 29 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Evan Bruinsma (202-F-92) of Rilski - 21 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Tihomir Zhelev (193-SG-90) of Beroe - 22 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Dimitar Marincheshki (200-F/C-90) of Spartak Pleven - 26 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Yordan Bozov (191-G-79) of Rilski - 18 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Zlatin Georgiev (197-G-85) of Rilski - 18 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Travis Daniels (202-F-92) of Balkan - 18 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
