There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in NBL.

The most exciting game of round 16 in the NBL took place in Pleven. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Spartak Pleven (6-8) to third ranked Academik Plovdiv (10-4) 90-88 on Saturday evening. Academik Plovdiv forced 19 Spartak Pleven turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St.) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American point guard Oscar Bellfield (187-90, college: UNLV) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Power forward Dimitar Marincheshki (200-90) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Academik Plovdiv have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Spartak Pleven at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Academik Plovdiv are looking forward to face Beroe (#4) in Stara Zagora in the next round. Spartak Pleven will play on the road against Balkan in Botevgrad and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Stara Zagora. First ranked Lukoil Acad. faced their biggest opponent Beroe. Guests from Sofia (13-2) defeated host Beroe (9-5) 87-80. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Filip Videnov (196-80, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording 25 points. Steve Zack contributed with 12 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American forward Aaron Jones (206-93, college: Mississippi, agency: Two Points) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for Beroe. Beroe's coach Ljubomir Minchev rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lukoil Acad. have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-2 record. Beroe at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Balkan. Lukoil Acad. will play against Rilski (#5) in Samokov in the next round. Beroe will play on the road against the league's second-placed Academik Plovdiv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Levski managed to get a third victory, breaking the six-game losing streak on Friday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked Cherno More in Sofia 79-70. Worth to mention a great performance of Veselin Veselinov who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side Deyan Karamfilov responded with 21 points, 7 assists and 7 steals. Cherno More's coach Spas Natov tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Levski maintains ninth position with 3-12 record. Cherno More lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with ten games lost. Levski will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cherno More will play against Yambol (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Yambol was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Balkan (9-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Yambol (3-11). Balkan managed to secure a 7-point victory 62-55. The winners were led by Mihailo Sekulovic who scored that evening 16 points and 8 rebounds. Balkan have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Beroe. Yambol lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Balkan's next round opponent will be Spartak Pleven (#6) at home. Yambol will play against Cherno More in Varna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The best stats of 16th round was 14 points and 4 assists by Tsvetoslav Ostrev of Yambol.

Yambol - Balkan 55-62

The game in Yambol was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Balkan (9-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Yambol (3-11). Balkan managed to secure a 7-point victory 62-55. The winners were led by Montenegrin center Mihailo Sekulovic (206-91) who scored that evening 16 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian power forward Dusan Cvetkovic (205-89, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Even 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by the former international center Nikolay Varbanov (209-85, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Yambol. Guard Ventsislav Petkov (188-91, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Four Yambol players scored in double figures. Balkan have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Beroe. Yambol lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Balkan's next round opponent will be Spartak Pleven (#6) at home. Yambol will play against Cherno More in Varna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Bottom-ranked Levski managed to get a third victory, breaking the six-game losing streak on Friday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked Cherno More in Sofia 79-70. Levski made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. Levski outrebounded Cherno More 37-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Veselin Veselinov (202-83, college: W.Virginia St.) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and international guard Evgeni Hadjirusev (193-95) who added 17 points and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) during the contest. Five Levski players scored in double figures.
