Division A is at the halfway of the Second Stage and there are still another 5 rounds left.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Samokov. Second ranked UE Varna faced 4th placed Rilski 2. Guests from Varna (4-1) defeated host Rilski 2 (2-3) 87-74. The game was mostly controlled by UE Varna. Rilski 2 managed to win fourth quarter 27-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UE Varna maintains second place in A with 4-1 record behind leader Cherno More 2. Rilski 2 at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. UE Varna are looking forward to face Levski 2014-2 (#3) in Sofia in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Rilski 2 will play on the road against Chavdar in Troyan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Undefeated leader Akademik Sofia delivered the fifth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Chavdar (1-4) 108-69. Akademik Sofia maintains first place in A with 5-0 record. Chavdar at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Akademik Sofia will play against Vidabasket (#6) in Vidin in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Chavdar will play at home against Rilski 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Levski 2014-2 maintains third place in A with 3-2 record having just two points less than leader Cherno More 2. Loser Vidabasket still closes the standings with five games lost. Levski 2014-2 will meet at home league's second-placed UE Varna in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vidabasket will play against the league's leader Akademik Sofia (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Dolphin moved-up to tenth place in A. Newly promoted CSKA still closes the standings with four games lost. Dolphin's next round opponent will be Akademik Varna (#11) on the road. CSKA will play against Akademik Varna and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

In the last two games of round 5 In A Akademik Varna was defeated by Dunav 2016 in Ruse 94-89. Cherno More 2 beat Shumen at home 81-72.

Chavdar will play at home against Rilski 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Levski 2014-2 - Vidabasket 96-68

Bottom-ranked Vidabasket (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 96-68 loss to third ranked Levski 2014-2 (3-2) in Sofia on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Levski 2014-2. Vidabasket managed to win third quarter 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Levski 2014-2 maintains third place in A with 3-2 record having just two points less than leader Cherno More 2. Loser Vidabasket still closes the standings with five games lost. Levski 2014-2 will meet at home league's second-placed UE Varna in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vidabasket will play against the league's leader Akademik Sofia (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

But then Dunav 2016 had a 31-21 second period charge getting the lead and Akademik Varna was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 89-94. Dunav 2016 maintains ninth place in A with 3-2 record. Akademik Varna at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. Dunav 2016's next round opponent will be higher ranked Shumen (#8) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Akademik Varna will play against CSKA and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Cherno More 2 - Shumen 81-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with leader Cherno More 2's (5-0) home victory over 8th ranked Shumen (3-2) 81-72. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Newly promoted Cherno More 2 maintains seventh place in A with 5-0 record.
